  • Black Silverado HD gets Black Wax for some High Definition in the paint!

So here's another black vehicle that got the new Black Wax
This was a basic detail with wax and I opted for the new Black Wax.
Now my first experience with BW gave me great polishing results and I've been expecting those same results and it just hasn't happened. I was thinking of this wax as more of a polish then a wax.
So with my mindset of this being a wax and not so much a polish is working out great and my customers are loving it too!

Just a few pics but you can see the results are great.

Yes on the Soft Buff yellow pad.
The Black Wax is a wax and not really a polish in my book. With the yellow pad you some paint correction since the BW has some polishing abilities in it.
This detail was sold as a wax only with no paint correction, so by using the yellow pad my customer gets a little more than they pay for in the form of some slight paint correction and it shows in the reflection shots.

In your opinion is it light correction ability or filling ability? Wonder what the longevity is on the shine, beading and sheeting. Do you know if either white or black wax stains trim like A12 or #6?

        BTW Nice job!

Slight correction on certain paint. This trucks showed very little correcting.
Filling, all wax fills so yes there was some of that.
Longevity, think of BW as carnauba as far as longevity.
Staining, well I tape of so I don't know about that but most of Meg's waxes don't stain trim or plastic

Re: Black Silverado HD gets Black Wax for some High Definition in the paint!

This graphic should clear up some things regarding polish vs cleaning and how they fit into both Black Wax and White Wax:

As you can see, the White Wax contains more cleaners than Black Wax does so it will actual remove more defects. Incidentally, the abrasives used in the cleaning action are SMAT abrasives, making these the first consumer cleaner waxes with SMAT abrasives. Black Wax has a higher polishing oil load than White Wax so it will create more depth and gloss. Remember, when we talk about "polish" we are not talking about ability to remove defects but rather simply gloss enhancement (think M07 Show Car Glaze, a "pure" polish).

Now, these two waxes may be marketed to the general public as being for "light to white colored vehicles" and "dark to black colored vehicles" but since neither one has any dyes or colorants, you can actually use either one on any color. And since White Wax has greater cleaning ability, it may actually have been an excellent choice on this black truck.

As an example, we used White Wax on a medium blue BMW at a TNOG session recently and below are the before and after shots after a single application using the yellow polishing pad.

              AFTER:

Nope, it didn't remove 100% of the swirls, but it's a great all in one when that's what you're looking for.

Mario, your "after" shots on this truck look fantastic!!

                Thank you Mike!
I almost went with WW on this truck. But it being a Silverado (remember the last one I worked on?) I didn't feel like messing with it. Actully this was going to get 156 only but I felt it needed more love then that. Next black car I'll do WW,. In 2 days I have a black Rubicon that I'll use WW on so well have a write up on that.

Looks real nice! Another "Lucky victim" of the new Black Wax. Fantastic for a "basic detail" the truck looks even more menacing now...

Black Wax seems to be like GOld Class with more cleaners and polishing oils...

Hey Mario, did you remove the images from Photobucket? Your image links are all broken already and PB says the images no longer exists. We hate seeing such a new post already missing its images - any way you can fix this?

I moved my pics into a folder. I didn't know it would change the link. I've emailed them but no responce yet.
I'll upload them again when I get home and hopfully you can fix this post.

Unfortunately it's not just this post, it's many of your recent posts (or maybe even all of them, I haven't checked). Lots of good stuff here and quite recent, so it's a shame that none of the images are showing up. Such is the problem with Photobucket.

sent them a secnond email but I don't think this is fixable.
I've learned my lesson and will now upload my pics directly here.
I should have listened to Mike P years ago when he told of the problems with photo hosting sites. >
