  • Subby Liberty B4-2 days- Opticoated

    Hi all,

This time I'm doing my best mate car.

It's the Liberty B4 and I did it 1 year ago.

He kept in good nick, even only light swirls coming to appear. Even BFWD that I applied a year ago still beads OK, far out.

So this time he want full correction and Opti-Coat 2.0 for durability purposes.

    Tools that I'm using:

    Concours shampoo foam-foam gun
Bilt hamber shampoo-2 buckets wash mix with HD Total
    Concours clay bar-HD Final Touch
    Turtle wax wheel cleaner
Rupes LHR21E and Meg's pad with HD Polish or LC Red Finesse pad with Megs DA301
Concours 900 with LC Yellow 4" with HD cut and LC white pad 4" with Megs DA301
    Eraser
    Opticoat 2.0
    Zaino Tyre Shine

Took me 13 hours to finish the job.

Rupes help me a lot with big stuff like half the car from bonnet to boot, only took me 2.5 Hours. The other half took 3 hours because of super sticky paint. This is the stickiest Subaru ever I worked on.

Small things took time and that's why it took so long.

Anyway I didn't took to many photos because I forgot to brought it with me. So everything is with phone.

    So before:

    After:

    LSP Opticoated:

One problem with Rupes is heat. Why this thing heat pretty badly? It also makes my Meguiars pad ripped off. Anyone can answer this questions?

Anyway I don't use rupes polishes, too much dust. HD polish works great on this car. Very impressive for cutting, but not good enough for super sticky paint that leave some hazes and dry polish.

Thanks for Dan caffeine that helps me out how to do opti coat. Very easy to applied and remove this Opti coat. Not as hard as other coating.

Looks OK, not glossy but takes time to cure opticoat so yeah.

    Thanks everyone. Comments appreciated.

    Nice work!
Your pad is separating due to heat created at the Velcro.
    Your going to fast/aggressive.
    I don't have a Rupes yet so I really can't comment more.
