  • "new" ride woes

over my spring break in march, while visiting family back in california, i had a very unfortunate accident that totaled my car.

here she was in her beautiful blue reflectiveness, just 10 hours before her death and an hour after being washed, PC, PP, and waxed with meguair's gold class wash, deep crystal pc and pp, and gold class wax:

i am getting a 96 civic to replace it with, but the problem is, the civic is in REALLY rough shape cosmetically. the owner said that he's never waxed it, and have only given it to the cheap local carwash place to wash every once in a while. i've been reading these forums religiously these past few days, and there might be some hope for this sun bleached arizona car. i'll post pics of the civic once i take delivery of it, and maybe you experts can tell me if the paint is even worth saving. i still have all my car care stuff, so if it's doable, i'm going to do it.

If the clear coat hasn't failed, that is if the clear coat is still present without any lifting, peeling, or areas where it's turned white or is just plain missing, then chances are with a few good products and a gentle touch, you will be able to restore it to its former glory and everyone on this forum will be willing to do everything they can to help you reach success.

I have a 93 civic and its never been garaged, Just watch for little spots of cc failures. Before I got my car it was my brothers and he didn’t wax if very often. When He gave me the car there was a small spots of cc failure on the roof. Within a year it spread all over the top. So just look out for it, it spread quickly. Ill see if I can find a picture of what it looks like. Good luck with the new civic
