  • Optima, Mustang, Equinox, Audi A5 x2

    2011 Kia Optima. Belongs to a regular x2 a year client.

    Interior:

    Vacumm.
    Vinyl/leather cleaned with Meguiars APC & hot water.
    Carpeted mats shampooed with 3D Carpet Shampoo & Aztec Hot Rod Extractor.
    Glass cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate 10.1.
    3D Lemon air freshener applied.

    Exterior:

    Pressure washed.
    Foamed/washed with Meguiars APC & an oz of Hyper-Wash.
    Wheels, tires, & wells cleaned with Greased Lightening 6:1.
    Prepped with Speedy Surface Prep Towel & Rinse Free Express Wash.
    Sealed with 3D Cherry Wax x 2.
    Tires/wells dressed with 3D Ultra Thick Protectant.
    Jambs washed with Meguiars Rinse Free X Press Wash.

    ============================================

    2000 Ford Mustang. This was a pre sale job. Client should get top dollar since it has less than 30k miles.

    Same process as the above Kia, with the exception that I sealed the Mustang with #20 - Polymer Sealant. The carpets were also shampooed with 3D Carpet Shampoo & extracted with the Aztec.

    ===============================================

    2011 Chevy Equinox. This is a wholesale job. I have an office account that pays for all the employess cars to be detailed once a year. The sum is not too high but it buys them a good wash/seal & interior cleaning.

    The process is the same as the above except no carpet extraction & the LSP of choice is 3D Express Wax.

    =====================================================

    A couple of Audi A5's. The first one is an 09 & the second is a 12.

    They were given the same treatment as above, sealed with #20 - Polymer Sealant too.

              what are your thoughts on the yellow degreaser at 4:1 on engine bay compared to apc+ at the same ratio?

                Oops nevermind on that last post. But how much are paying for the greased lightning per gallon?

                  Are you refering to 3D's Yellow Degreaser? If so, its a bit more potent than APC Plus. As far as I understand APC Plus is not a heavy degreaser at all. I like APC Plus for cleaning interiors & pre soaking exterior badges & crevices. APC Plus will clean pretty decent on an engine bay but there are more effective degreasers for that purpose. Tires that have not been cleaned in a while require more than APC Plus even at 1:1.

                  I get the Greased Lightening pretty cheap, $7 a gallon at Home Depot & it lasts me a little over a week. I typically use the GS when I am out of 5 gallon buckets of 3D Orange or Yellow Degreaser. 3D makes some pretty nice & affordable products when it comes to prepping/degreasing a car/truck.

                    Yea I have been cleaning engine bays with apc+ at 4:1 for years. I wonder why it always took me so long! lol I'm about to stock up on some WB, SD and water based dressing at ads. Dressing is for the interior.

                      Super Degreaser is a nice product, I have used a couple gallons of it, but I dont like the smell. Greased Lightening has a pretty pleasant smell. I have never used Meguiars water based dressing, since I dont have a use for it as I dont dress interiors. Hyperdressing is enough for me to use on tires/wells.

                        Do you think the water base dressing will be greasey (similar to HD) at 4:1 ratio? Only reason I'm looking for something more glossy than QID is I work on older vehicles with faded interiors from the sun.
