  • Subaru WRX STi Type RA

    Hi guys,

This time I work on Subaru WRX STi type RA. Never been detailed and pretty much the car is for track purposes. Got titanium exhaust, carbon hood and front lip, TE37SL wheels, modified on the engine(220+KW), coilover etc.

Very nice car to work with but with typical Subaru Paint. 10 hours working time.

    Process:

    Wash, Iron X, Clay bar.
Wheels cleaned with AG Custom Wheels
    Suburf Pad+Menz P203S
    MF Cutting pad Megs+D300 Compound(Hood)
MF Finishing pad Megs+D301 Finishing wax
Rinse and blow with ozito blower vac
    Glass using Rain X 2in1
    Perl on trim and rubber

LSP: Dodo Juice Rubbish Boys and FK425 QD for finishing. Wheels get HD Poxy and Zaino Tyre shine.

Pics before(sorry using phone camera, didn't bring proper camera):

    After LSP:

    Thanks.

While I'm a fan of black cars, not so much a fan of carbon fiber, but you really got it looking nice. You also really clarified the reflections of the paint. Nicely done.

            Thanks guys.

DAMF I used on the hood because of the cutting and safety. This carbon is from China, and pretty hard clear coat. But with DAMF Cutting, it will leave perfect finish, even though need to be finish up with finishing wax since it is pretty sticky too like most Subaru Paint. Should not be a problem for carbon hood+it's still pretty much brand new.

While on the body, I did not use DAMF cutting is because until today I still love the fast cutting of Surbuf. Saving me time. With DAMF Cutting needs to be slow, too fast and the velcro will sticking out(I use DAMF Cutting and only 2-3 cars then the velcro is ripping out). Even with Surbuf will be the same thing in the end, but either way I still love both pads. Found out DAMF can be useful on low-moderate swirls plus leaving no swirl or crazy dust from the compound, and surbuf for high cutting ability and fastness.

            Thanks
