  • Detail: F250

Got a call from one of my regulars about his neighbor who wanted his truck taken care of. This customer was mainly focused on making the truck look better. It had some VERY HARSH water spotting...the worst I have ever seen. It was heavily compounded on the passenger side with M101 and a MF cutting disk and LC purple hybrid foamed wool pad followed by D300 and then D301 on a Megs MF Polishing disk. The water spots were not removed completely as this would require some wet sanding that just wasn't in the cards for this job today. The rest of the truck was hit with D151 and Optimums MF polishing disk. Trim was dressed with Meguiars Ultimate Protectant, and rubber was dressed with ShowRoom FX white pearl.
    On to the pictures...

The truck sits for weeks at a time in the owners drive way being battered by HARSH well water sprinklers. This is after being washed and clayed using the medium speedy prep towel. It removed a ton of contaminants but didn't touch the spots.

It also had a fair share of swiling going on:

And refined... notice the water spotting still faintly remains:

Overall, the customer was happy with the end result but I was not. The truck sits for two weeks at a time as he works in the oil field and the truck sits and bakes with spots on the truck.

    Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks! Not all places have this harsh water, just the folks outside the city limits that use well water.

            Nice job.
I hate it when I can't "finish" a job and it doesn't look as good as it couls but as long as the customer is happy.
