    Thanks gentlemen,

I've done a lot of experimentation on the obsidian paint (Lexus clear coat). The list of products used reads like the Meguiar's catalog. As someone has said, you don't own black, it owns you.

Nice ride David and it looks perfect!

I love the black color of the RX's. I just remember how it gleams in the UQW quik tips video. It's just amazing.

When I purchased the car, wife said, "take care of it or I'll take it".
So I went to Meguiar's Saturday school to learn the fine art of concerned car care.
    She hasn't taken it yet.

Daily Driver - Photographed in front of oldest barn in Iowa.
Much care and feeding required for Obsidian Black. Meguiar's is the food.
    Lexus RX450h - cross-over utility, AWD, hybrid

So when someone details a honda and they don't know what they're doing, chances are they're going to remove a lot of clear eventually leading to CC failure.

What year and color is your friend's 8th gen civic? Has your friend tried bringing the car to the dealership?
I forget what year...but it's NBP...It's sad...clear coat is failing EVERYWHERE. He hasn't tried taking it to the dealership because he's out of warranty. But that's sad...for a possibly 5-6 year old car, and the clear coat is going already. My paint on my Lexus I think is perfect even after almost 4 years. My car is also garaged when I'm not driving it though...

I'm surprised we don't have more pics of forum members cars posted here yet....

He and I both detailed the car a few years back when it had really bad water spots...but we used Meguiar's Ultimate Compound...which reading a lot of the posts on the forums, it's actually pretty safe stuff to use. It's not like we wet sanded the paint you know?

We have a 1994 Honda accord in our family and although the paint is old and oxidized, the clear coat is still there...maybe it's single stage?

Thanks. I too really like the color of my Vibe. The car has been very reliable so far, only oil changes and that's it !
I special ordered it the way I wanted it a few months before the lease ended on my previous car. I plan on keeping the Vibe a few more years since it's paid for.

And, nice car every one ! I really like the blue Lexus !
