  • First attempt using Polishing Compound.

My paint isnt in too bad of condition, had some light swirls and stuff, but its an 07 so she was getting a bit hazy. Since I live in an apartment I have to do everything by hand. Anyway, this was the first time I have ever used the Polishing Compound, it was a nice test and the results were pretty good. These pics were following the compound application, after that I used ULW to seal it up. Since I am fairly new to this whole thing, it has been a very good experience, and needless to say I cant wait to attend a saturday class.

Sure looks good in these pictures; how does it look in direct sunlight? That's the real test. But what's really important is that you like the end result, and that you're learning as you go. And from the looks of things, so far, so good - and that's actually huge as we see a lot of people make some pretty ugly rookie mistakes. Nothing that can't be fixed, but frustrating nonetheless. It appears as though you've avoided that completely, so you're well ahead of the game. Looking forward to meeting you at a Saturday Class!

Thanks, I will put a little more elbow grease into the roof, but overall the rest of the car came out great. I had some deeper marks that may need more of a machine polish. When I get into that saturday class, I will surely buy the Meguiars Polisher to really get that stuff out. For hand application though, it was quite a good experience. Thanks for the supportive words.
