  • WaxWorks: 2012 Chrysler 300

As a seasonal detailer (April through October or later, depending on weather), I look forward to my version of "opening day".

The first official detail of 2012 was a 2012 Chrysler 300, metallic white with a tan leather interior.

The wash process was as follows:
    • Tires, wheels and wheelwells cleaned using CAR products Blast APC in various concentrations and a Daytona wheel cleaning brush
    • Foamed with DP Extreme Foam Shampoo
    • washed via the 2 bucket method using a microfiber wash mitt and Zep Blue car wash soap
    • Refoamed with DP Extreme Foam Shampoo
    • Clayed with Car Products gray clay with ONR in QD concentration as a lubricant
    • Dried using microfiber drying towels, water blown out of cervices using a leaf blower

The engine compartment had some light dust, it was gently rinsed and dried using the leaf blower. I used Meguiars's Hyper Dressing to shine the underhood plastics.

The car had minimal swirls and no RIDS whatsoever.

The polishing and LSP process was:
    • Polished with Meguiar's #9 Swirl Removervia PC on a Lake Country pad
    • Sealed with Meguiar's #21 Syntehtic sealent via PC on a Lake Country finishing pad, then topped with Mother's Caifornia Gold Carnauaba wax to give the paintwork some "warmth"

The wheels were waxed with Meguiar's #21 and Stoner More Shine was apllied to the tires.

The interior was very clean, with the exception of the driver's side floor mat, which had a couple of stains. The interior was throughly vacuumed, the mats were shampooed using Folex and my Bissel LG to extract, the interior carpeting was spot cleaned using Folex. The leather seating surfaces were clean, so I just wiped them down. The dash and door panels were cleaned with Meguiar's Interior QD

I used Sprayway Glass cleaner with microfiber toweling to clean the windows and treated the exterior window surfaces with RainX.
    Here are the results...

    Great work!

Those new Chryslers sure have an Audi-type look from the front. The back hasn't changed much though...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Excellent "opening day" detail. The 300 turned out great.
