WRX correction detail
Hi all.
After spending a weekend away with the car parked under a tree for 2 days (!), the sap and fallout had taken its toll on the WRX's paintwork. It has been a few months since the last paint correction so was worth redoing a full detail. Despite the watermarks and sap damage from the tree the paintwork was otherwise in a good condition due to obsessive wash technique.
So car was washed down with Karcher pressure washer and foam gun. Thicker sap was removed with a combination of Bug and Tar Remover and clay, Rewashed and clayed the whole car. Dried off. Garaged overnight because the light was fading. Next day - QD'd the whole car to remove any dust from the overnight garaging.
Damage looked like etching from the sap and there were a few swirls. So out with the trusty G220 and started with yellow pad and UC with light pressure and speed 4. First pass did a fair job but the etching needed another go so did another pass with slightly more pressure with speed 5. That seemed to do the trick. This was needed on the horizontal surfaces on the car. Vertical surfaces actually only needed a light pass over with UC.
I still haven't got UP so stuck with my trusted DC2 and applied by hand (I love the feeling of applying polish by hand!). Wiped off and decided to use Ultimate Liquid Wax. Application was with low speed (2) and black pad. Thin layer followed by quick wipeoff left a great gloss. Any minor streaks wiped off with a damped microfibre. Topped it off with a layer of UQD (which really is am amazing product).
Interior was wiped down with QID. Wheels dressed with Hot Shine.
Some pics of the final product

Thanks for looking. Next few weeks I'll be doing a full detail on my 2011 WRX STI (just got it back from the panel beaters so waiting the obligatory time for the paint to outgas)
