  • Trident Protection System Correction, Blk Yukon

So my customer bought a used '11 Yukon. Had it detailed then had the dealer apply Trident Protection to it.
Trident is a synthetic and nanotechnology protection. Now I love Nano protection products but something went wrong in this application.
As you will see, there were INCREDIBLE SWIRL MARKS that I've never seen the likes of I've never seen. Looks like stainless steel. And little "water spot looking dots" all over.
Well after 13 hrs and a few different applications of 105, wool, maroon and micro fibers pads, rotary and DA combinations, I finally found a combination that worked.
I called Meg's and Nick was shocked at what I had to do to correct this. and my mentor said:
"Let the paint tell you what it needs" and that's what I did.
Well it came out great without wet sanding it and the customer were amazed at my work. "Your the man" is what they told me. Ah, I love my job, take pride in my work and deliver more then I promise. Army Pride Baby!

I was actually there when Nick took the call from you - so what did you finally use to fix this truck?

Hey Mike, 105/wool pad- 10 hard pass, I really had to "grind" out the swirls. Then a Micro fiber finish pad/105 to remove buffer marks. Then 20 on a yellow pad.
It needed a pass with 205 but after 13 hrs the customer was very happy so I skiped the 205 application.

So Jimmy, after the 105 the 20 actually had some decent cut to finesse the finish then? Very interesting. I saw on your other post with the RV that you had utilized 20 with fantastic results. I have an unopened bottle of it that I am intrigued to try. I would think it would work very very well on my father's Subaru and similar softer paints if you're having such nice success with it. If you don't mind me asking, what is the longevity you're getting out of it on average with customers?

All I know is it works, period.

Also D151 is a long lasting product I use also.

                    LOL, sorry about that

Well, I think I'm going to have to crack open my bottle. It sounds like something that would be great on customer cars after D151 or if needed 105.

                    Thanks for the input!

Trident paint protection system is a total scam! I've used it and it's nothing more then an knock-off of the real product ToughGuard. ToughGuard is the real deal and I was a converted skeptic. Trident is a rip off, doesn't last as long and I'd never put it on my customer's cars and my clients mostly drive high end show cars. ToughGuard is scientifically proven whereas Trident is not! You're only as good as your reputation and my clients absolutely love ToughGuard as the shine is amazing and it makes cleaning your car easy. Trident even copied ToughGuard's marketing materials, now come on, seriously??? ToughGuard has been around longer, why is Trident copying them?? Buyer beware!

Oops, forgot to list where I purchased the product. www.toughguard.com although it looks like they are doing some remodeling of their site. Enjoy all!
