  • Used my G-100 for my first real detail on MY ride!

    Hello All,

    I have had my G-100 for about 3 weeks now and decided to use it on my ride for a change as I have been practicing on everyone elses. I finally got the hang of using the 80 speed glaze and my 8006 foam pad. I was having trouble removing the 80 and I think I figured out why. I would apply my "X" of product and apply it to whatever section that I had eyed out. I would make my north/south passes and then my east west passes and then would stop and try to remove the product. This was kind of the advise I was given on applying product when I ordered it. Removing it then though it was still kind of thick and a little wet and it really made it a pain to remove. Today I made my north south, east west and then I went diagonally and then went to some figure 8's until the 80 almost disappeared. I am sure everyone has their own way but this seemed to work for me. Removing after doing this was a sinch. After using the 80 I went over everything with some Final Inspection . I then washed the vehicle again with some Gold Class. I just had my hood and passenger fender repainted so using the 80 is as far as I could go. The results were very impressive though. I cant wait until a few weeks from now when I can apply the NXT after the 80. If it is shining like this now I cant wait to see it when I can do that.
    Scrub will be proud of me as I made sure to take some pictures to document this little project!

    Flawless!

    Thanks for the pics. Great work.

    The NXT will really add a real nice final touch to all the hard work. I love a red car for before and after pics. Take a look here. Oxidized Red Saturn Vs. the PC. #80 was applied twice.

    You mention practicing... For what?? Are you going to pay for more products by doing some work from others. That's how we get started.

    Thanks for taking the time to take the pics and upload. The tires look great what was the dressing?

    Roll tide! ------->that's bama right?

      Yep Scrub that is Bama! I love the Crimson Tide! I am looking forward to using the NXT behind it with my 9006 finishing pad and I also have an Ultimate Bonnet. I am hoping that will give it even a little extra shine and reflection if that is possible. The tire dressing is actually Dupont ****** Tire Dressing. I apply it with a sponge and it dries completely dry to the touch yet shines like it is wet. It also does not "sling" at all. I think it is the only non Meguiars product that I use.

          I love the movie Crimson Tide. One of the best scenes in the movie was during the pouring down rain and the were baording the boat.

          You'll truly love NXT removed with the PC and UB. For some reason it just gives it an extra POP.

          I gonna try that dressing. Looks great.

          Shout out to Bloomington. I grew up watching IU basketball. Smart, Alford, Garrett, Jay Edwards, Bailey, Graham... I was sorry to see "the general" go.

            Hey Scrub,

            IU has seen better days, that's for sure... I actually work there and the state of athletics is gone downhill over the past few years, sad to say....
