  • Quick 1-Step Detail - Navy Honda Civic

It's 2003 Coupe Edition. The exterior was in a really bad shape but we decided to give it a multi-step makeover after winter and just restore gloss and wax it for now.

    Total time: 7 hours

    Process:
Wash - Foam Gun, Meguiar's Super Soap
Clay - Magna Hi Tech sponge, M34 Final Inspection
Clean/ Surface Prep - M205 Ultra Finishing Polish
Wax - M16 Professional Paste Wax

    Car polishers:
    Flex XC 3401 VRG, Meguiar's G110v2

Wheels - Gold Class All Wheel Cleaner
    Tires - Endurance Tire Gel
Exterior trim, mirrors - Ultimate Protectant (lotion)
    Interior - Quik Interior Detailer

    Headlight restoration:
    Meguiar's G110v2 as D/A sander
    Unigrit 3" Finishing Discs: 1000 and 3000
    M205 Ultra Finishing Polish/ W8204

Great job Greg! The car already looks clean before but you can definitely see the improvement in the paint's color, depth, darkness and reflectivity! Nice work on the headlight resotration as well!

It's interesting too see before and after pictures in such similar light, even though it's not harsh, direct sunlight. Even so, you can see the added depth and richness to the color, thanks to the wonders of M205. And M16, huh Greg? You're liking that wax, aren't you? The headlights look soooo much better, too; nice use of the G110v2 for sanding and buffing!! And you managed to remove the 3000 grit sanding marks with just M205 on a yellow 8204 pad? Impressive!!

        Beautiful work, as always.

            Thank you, Marc.
I don't think this car has been ever detailed.

I know you always prefer PE-14-2 over 3401. Can't blame you for that.

            Thank you, Mike.
M16 and Ultimate Wax are my favorite protection products. M205 is just an amazing and super versatile liquid. Those Unigrit 3" and 6" discs make life so much easier. I completely stopped hand sanding and use my G110v2 as a D/A sander now.
Oooops, I'm sorry about not being clear about M205 on headlights: I used it with rotary buffer/ W63/ W8204. I had M105 on standby but M205 took care of sanding marks.

It was very rewarding indeed. I'll do proper multi-step detail on that Honda next Spring.
