  • Town & Country, A5

I have been doing this van twice a year since when it was bought new in 2008. It is owned by a couple of nuclear engineers who work at the plant.

He said it was trashed but to him that just means moderate debris & some very light dirt. The paint picks up a lot of fallout that had to be clayed off and then apply protection for the winter.

    Before:

    Wash/Prep:

    Pressure wash.
Tires/wells/ cleaned with Purple Power 1:1.
Wheels cleaned with Wheel Brightener 4:1.
    Jambs,floormats, & emblems cleaned with 3D Orange Degreaser 10:1.
Bugs removed with 3D Bug Remover 7:1.
    Foamed/washed with Hyper-Wash.
Clayed with Meguiars blue clay & ONR.

    During:

    Interior:

    Vacumm.
Carpets shampooed with 3D Carpet Shampoo.
Leather/vinyl cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner & hot water mix.
Leather/vinyl & plastic treated with Quik Interior Detailer.
Glass cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate 10:1.

    After:

    Exterior:

    Tar treated with Tarminator.
    Tires dressed with #40 - Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner.
    Wells dressed with Hyper-Dressing 3:1.
Chrome trim polished with Mothers chrome polish.
Trim treated with All Season Dressing.
    Paint/wheels recieved two applications of:

    Afters:

    ============================================

    2009 Audi A5.

Has it done twice a year. Owned by a dentist.

I suggested we polish the car after winter to rid the paint of some moderate swirling. I suggested we do it then since it would not make sense now going into winter.

The process is almolst the same as the van, with a couple of minor differences.

They both turned out great, Nick.

Chrysler reacted really nicely to Opti-Seal. The interior must have taken you a long time to bring back.
Audi A5 is such a great sports coupe and it looks fantastic after your Magic Touch.

Excellent work! Although the words nuclear and fallout in the same discription is a bit unnerving....lol...j/k!

The TnC and Audi really GLOW! Pun intended!!

Love your work Nick, keep it up!!

That 3D line looks to be getting some good use. I may need to pick some of it up. How do you like the bug remover?

                Thank you so much Greg.

The interior took about 4-5hrs on the van.

A lot of folks like the A5, my thoughts were that the inside was a bit uncomfortable & the engine was a bit noisy. Maybe the A5 is geared more toward performance though?

                Thanks Shawn!

I use to use almolst all Meguiars but in the last six months have started to use 3D, HD, & Optimum.

The Bug Remover is a real nice product, my Body Solvent has just been sitting for a long time now. If you let the Bug Remover sit for 2-3 minutes then pressure wash you usually do not have to even scrub any bugs off with a bug sponge. I also use it to treat the undersides of rocker panels and blast them with a pressure washer to get most of the gunk off.

I actually have to put in another order for more gallons of carpet shampoo & Wash &Wax. Might pick up the Nitro Seal to try as well.

Nice work, as usual. I work at a nuke plant, as well, so I'm curious as to what industrial fallout my car is exposed to every day.

I tried out M40 on my tires after my last wash, and I really like the way it looks. Just a bit of a shine, and gives the tires a really clean appearance.

Only downside I've noticed so far with M40 is that the tire has to be perfectly clean, because unlike most dedicated tire products, it really won't cover up any residue from old dressing. I love the shine and longevity I got from the Endurance spray I've used for the last four months, but getting it completely off my tires has proved difficult, to say the least. If I was just applying more Endurance, it wouldn't be a problem.

During yesterday morning's wash, I used Tarminator, Super Degreaser, Hyper Wash, and various brushes (including a very aggressive brass-bristled brush), and I still have some leftover residue.

Blows it out of the water IMO.

the 3D is much higher foaming, cleans better, and leaves the finish slick & glossy looking. And a gallon is cheap.

Thats not to say UW&W is not a great product, I just feel 3D Wash & Wax is a better one.

Not sure exactly but the owners stated something lands on the finish that is airborne, in the area they park at least.

Usually water based dressings require the tire to be 100% clean.

Try pressure washing, spraying on some degreaser, pressure washing.

Then once the tire is dry take some Goof Offf & a terry cloth for the rest.
