    Re: 18 year old BMW

Well I kinda forgot to get pictures to update
but I have done the following in the last couple weeks

    cowl replacement (not mine)
a really crazy thing was that I replaced the cowls with OE parts but it left 2 "holes" so I went into Crevier to pick up the two covers
I guess mine is "special" because when I placed the covers on they just spun and didnt lock, well a little JB weld fixed that
    http://www.bimmerdiy.com/diy/e36cowling/

Here are those two covers, not the prettiest but it works

    door handle gaskets (not mine)
    http://www.dtmpower.net/forum/e36-m3/187964-diy-door-handle-trim-replacement.html

before drivers (still working on trying to get the handle it self blackened up)

    after passenger

rear glass trim replacement (not mine)
    http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1015282

This whole entire corner was missing and the trim was really faded and nothing seemed to work on it

    minor rust repair (mine)
    http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1722414

    I
also recently replaced the front license plate frame with a trim delete, unfortuantly there was some yellowing from where the old plate covered the paint
Here is yours truely working on the yellowing at Meguiar's HQ (the yellowing is as good as I feel it can get)

here are two pictures of the smooth front with the plate delete

This week I am going to be getting my wheels refinished at a local powdercoat shop
as always there is at least a handful of things that need to be done but I am slowly but surely chipping away at my list

Hey Joseph, Awesome car! The new front looks clean and killer! What color powder coat are you going to go with on your wheels?

I have been procrastinating on wheel locks for my S2000 wheels on my honda: What locks do you use/recommend?

Dave, it is good to see you over here, we should get you up here for a Saturday class eventually

I am going to go with as close as I can get to the OEM paint

I headed down to Santa Ana and got 4 tire and the 4 valve stems removed for $17
but it looks like I need to be thinking about at least 2 tires but most likely 4

Tomorrow I will drop my wheels off at the powdercoater

to be honest I really have no idea, I just know one thing it is Security through Obscurity
someone shouldnt be able to grab the "master set" and just figure out which one it is
I know good locks can be very pricey
I have only ever had the OEM wheel bolts but that will change if I end up going with some spacers

Im thinking a couple phone calls to some of these guys could get you some good answers on what they would suggest

Thanks for the reply Joseph. You'll have to decode "a Saturday class" for me... maybe a PM for that.

Hope those powder coated wheels turn out great.

I just got 4 new tires on my Honda... I still had 2 decent tires (Kuhmo's in the rear) and actually I regret not running them 'til a proper retirement.

Thanks for the leads on the locks...

          Dave
