Now being my first time with a DA and the MF System, I was pretty impressed, i got most of the Tahoe done in the shade, but ran out of time, so some of the truck was done in direct sun light, and it was about 85 degrees out Yesterday. Over all im pretty impressed by this system, minimal dusting, great correction. Even in the sun the products were not hard to remove from the paint at all. And the only thing that got burnt was me! My camera isnt all that great, but it worked i guess, now some afters.

Hood/Re-spray I found out after i started, couldnt remove 100% of swirls, cleaned up most of the small ones though

These scrathes were pretty deep, did a pretty good job

My brother was happy with the result of the paint correction, I was happy with it and the MF system. hopefully I will get a bit better along the way, I wasnt planning on doing his truck first, but he wanted it done Sunday, so yeah, i guess my car will be next. if you guys see or notice something with the final pics and have suggestions shoot them at me! Thanks for all the info!

Looks great! I had my first experience yesterday after using the regular polishing pads for years. I really enjoyed it and got great results like you did. But nice job! Good luck with your car. Ill be waiting for the pictures.

Re: 07' Tahoe First MF System

I have a question i just remembered that i didnt last night. I feel that i used a lot more D300 over the D301, is this because doing the compound process in the sun and was just drying the product out faster then the D301? I think over the whole Tahoe with the D301 i applied it a handful of times and used only one finishing disc. With the D300 I did half of the truck with one disc, and used the second disc on the second half of the truck, and probably applied product two times that or maybe even three times, 12-18 times??? Just wondering if it is because of the direct sunlight, im guessing thats where the dusting came from, and where i had no dusting from the D301.....

How big are the sections you're working? The D300 should give minimal dusting, and if so you are either working the product too long, using too much ( I find 2 -3 drops work best), or the section you're working is too large. Also, very key that you are cleaning the pad after each panel. I use around 3-4 pads per car just because I'm OCD about having a clean pad which also cuts the best as well. Nice job though!

Great turnaround - that truck was a disaster before you started but looks great now!

As for using so much more D300 than D301, that's pretty normal whether using this system or more traditional liquids and foam pads. Think about how much Ultimate Compound or M105 you use with a foam polishing pad when removing defects versus the amount of wax you apply after. With the DAMF system you're using maybe 3 pea sized drops of D300 for each 2'x 2' section but a similar amount of D301 will cover a whole hood (once the pads are primed, of course).

Ok, sounds good, I figured thats what it was. Yeah, This was my first DA use and first MF system use. So i will try to sharpen up the skills a little more. I have my car to do still and then a co-workers Corvette, which I am really excited about!
