  • 2007 Ford Escape

The owner of this truck contacted me about performing a cleaning on his SUV. Children can do a lot of damage to a vehicle's interior, especially over time.

This was a cleaning type detail and and the exterior has a lot of scratches & dings from the airport so the exterior was just given a basic treatment.

    Before:

I started by washing & degreasing the exterior first.

Tires, wells, & mats soaked with Purple Power 1:1.
Jambs soaked with 3D Orange Degreaser.
    Wheels treated with Wheel Brightener.
    Foamed/washed with Shampoo Plus.
    Clayed while washing.

    During:

    Interior:

    Vacumm for 2hrs.
Carpet/upholstery shampooed with 3D Carpet Shampoo.
Vinyl cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner & hot water mix.
Vinyl/plastic treated with Quik Interior Detailer.
Glass cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate 10:1.
Rubber inserts soaked in Dawn Odor Eraser.
Smoke odor treated with Dakota Odor Bomb Ocean Water Scent.
    Jambs washed with ONR.

    After:

    Exterior.

    Waxed/sealed with Opti-Seal.
    Tires/well dressed with Hyper-Dressing 2:1.
Trim treated with All Season Dressing.
    Tar treated with Tarminator.

    After:

That interior was really really bad. No wonder such intense work was needed, including 2 hours of vaccuming alone.

Great restoration, Nick, inside and outside.

Did you have to clean the loose change too?

        Great job!

Only when you're a complete slob. I hate when people use their kids as an excuse of why their car looks like a hurricane blew through it. I want to say, "No, your car looks the way it does because you're a lazy slob that hasn't taken 2 seconds to clean anything the entire time you've owned the car."

Nice turn around, Nick. That was a nasty one.

Great work as always Nick!!! The interior is just trashed! I bet the owner was blown away on how clean their car is now.

I noticed that you always foam and wash the car under full sun. Does the soap and water dry up on you?

Nice turnaround Nick. That pile of change on the seat looks like my best payout at the local casino (probably why I don't go anymore!) Those paper floor mats are a nice professional touch.

                      Thanks David.

You know, I actually soaked the coins in some Dawn Power Overnight Power Clean.

They had grease & oil on them and I couldnt just leave them like that.

It does seem to be the excuse of the decade?

Every now and then I get cheapskates that just want a full exterior detail and not to do the interior since the kids trash it.

I usually keep the vehicle foamed or wet at all times and do not even get the paint wet until the wheels, tires, jambs, etc are clean.

I love the paper floor mats as well.

                      Thanks Shawn.

Havent had a chance to test durability but it seems to not give much of an added gloss but just a clean look.

Its easy to apply and doesnt need to be removed so I picked it up to save time.

                        Re: 2007 Ford Escape

People tend only think about cleaning a car when they are in it and never do it when they get home. Also if possible, never permit eating or drinking in the car with children, If you have to, do it when your alone and dispose of evidence.

Very nice results. I need to get a better extractor at some point.

                          No extractor used here.

All cleaning done by hand & shop vac.
