I nearly posted this in Detailing 101 because of the questions, but put it here instead.

Had just returned from a trip where I brutalized the car in tunnel washes. Please don't stone me, I'm ashamed enough...

Also had a Lexus gathering after returning from the trip and I wanted to have it look "shiny", so did a quick clean up.
Car is a 2010, 1&1/2 yr. old, 40,000 miles.


Wash -
Wheels and wheel wells - APC+ and Deep Crystal Soap
Body - Gilmour gun Super Soap, hand wash Ultimate Wash and Wax

Dry -
Absorber - quick wipe down
Driving 10 blocks really fast - okay it was hot, I was hungry, I needed some food and hydration

Cleaning - (except roof)
Ultimate Polish - speed 5, slow arm speed, moderate pressure, yellow Megs pad

Polish - (except roof)
M07 Speed Glaze - speed 4, medium arm speed, light pressure, black Megs pad
Wipe it off as fast as possible

Wax - (except roof)
M26 - machine applied, one coat

Detailer - second day
Ultimate Quick Detailer dampened microfiber

Roof -
ColorX - day one
Ultimate Quick Detailer - day two

Laid down the M26 the end of first day and wiped down with UQD dampened microfiber the second day. There was a small percentage chance of rain. Of course, it poured driving to the event. Pretty much a wasted day of cleaning.

Questions -
M07 pours out of the bottle like chocolate milk. Runs onto and off the the pad. Is that right? Or is that the result of it getting frozen?

Used Ultimate Polish for very, very light swirl removal. Is following UP with M07 a total waste of time and product?
Really dislike M07. Removal is a PITA. Perhaps too hot and humid? 90 degrees 80 per cent






The clear bra is on the lower 1/4 of the hood. Notice it's blurry compared to upper portion of hood.



No dressing on tires, too new to have blooming.

Would using a No Rinse product in a Gilmour gun as a "spot-free" rinse aid in drying a car?

The car came out great.
I assume you used/ talked about M07 Show Car Glaze not M80 Speed Glaze, like you mentioned describing your detailing process.

1. M07 is a little runny.

2. If you used UP with yellow polishing pad and followed by M07 with black finishing pad you should see some gloss increase. UP and M205 perform really well on modern clear coats so you may just stay with these two liquids without reaching for M07, M05 nor M80.

3. If you work in high temperature/ high humidity conditions switch to M05 New Car Glaze. M07 works purely in those conditions and I'm not surprised you had a hard time wiping it off.

4. I think some guys add ONR to car soaps in their foam guns. I haven't done it so don't know the mix recipe.

Thanks. Right number, wrong name M07 Show Car Glaze is what I used. Second time I've used it. Didn't like it a year ago either.

1. Thanks. Thought I froze it. Thin like water, hold pad level or it ran off.
2. At first I was thinking stop with M07, then heard about the rain in the forecast figured better wax.
3. May try M05 some day. This summer seems to be always hot. Humidity a given.
4. I was thinking ONR alone in a Gilmour as a final rinse. Don't enjoy drying. Thinking spray on, watch it run off...spot free.

If my mind is working correctally...M-05 is basically M-07 but is made for these high humidity (humility?) days we've been having.

Yea, M-07 is runny, or I should say EVERY bottle I've ever used has been (been using the stuff since the late 50's...LOL). To be honest, with the UPolish now on the market...I'm Slooowly waving g'bye to 7.

Hopefully BillyJack will see this thread...he is the M7 guru!

re: products freezing...
If a product says "keep from freezing".. and it does freeze... toss it.
