  • '98 Jeep Wrangler

I buddy of mine recently bought this Jeep who said the previous owner never washed nor waxed it. I kinda understand the "it's a Jeep" mentality of really not keeping it sparkling like new, but to never wax it is not that smart. There are areas of clear coat failure all over the hood so I had to tread lightly to avoid incurring more damage. I went old school with this one and used M83 followed by M80 and then a coat of Gold Class wax. The wheel fenders were horrible and I was pleasantly surprised that some APC did most of the trick - although I did end it using my G110 with a finishing pad with some APC and that helped speed up the process. Followed up on the fenders with a coat of Ultimate Protectant. It's not completely finished yet, but a pretty good improvement for a few hours of work today. The new owner is very happy with the outcome thus far!

Wow!!! That's a nice recovery especially with M83!!! The jeep looks brand new or has been repainted. I bet the owner was thrilled!

Great job on the detail! Thanks for sharing.

What a great improvement ! Seems like the old school 83-80 duo did the trick on this poor Jeep.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Thanks everyone! I should have taken a picture of the owner when he pulled up to my driveway to pick up his Jeep. He was absolutely thrilled with the results! I went with the 83-80 combo since there was already clear coat failure. I figured anything more aggressive would have done more damage. I think the DAT outplayed the SMAT this time around

Wow looks great. I like that green a lot. You really turned a off road looking jeep into a possible show car. Great work

Wow! 100% better. I just hope the previous owner took care of it better mechanically than he did cosmetically.

I used some APC with a foam pad by hand at first, but then switched to APC and my G110 with a finishing pad. Topped it off with some Ultimate Protectant. Very pleased with the results!

Pretty impressive turnaround on the Jeep! The difference in the hood shot was pretty drastic.
