In November a friend from my car club was in the hospital and would not be driving his new to him 2007 BMW Z4. He had totaled his 2003 Z4 when he was hit by another driver and he replaced it with this.

The car had never been in a garage or had a car cover on it. The paint felt like sandpaper and the top had tree sap and grease on it. The top was actually tan in color.

I started with a wash using Dawn dish soap to strip the car and to remove the grease and road grime. The wash did the job and made it very easy to see what was going to be needed.

Scratches and holograms on every panel.
First on the list was to clay the car to get rid of the surface containment's. Pic is after doing a 2x2 foot area.

Next a test area using #205, using the D/A and a yellow pad at speed 4, results was not what I was looking for , so yet anothe test area using # 205 at speed 6, still was not getting the job done.

The end result was #105 at speed 5 to put a scary haze on the car, however, when followed with # 205, yellow pad at speed 4 , I was happy. Completed the car with #105, all panels.
Followed up with # 205 and completed all panels.

The car now had all scratches and holograms removed and it was now time to apply the bling.
I used car show glaze (#7) with a black finishing pad and the D/A on speed 3. This IMHO is what gives the car that wet look and depth.
When completed the next step was to protect my efforts, so out comes the #21, the first product that was allowed to dry on purpose. D/A with finishing pad, speed 3.
I followed it up with a paste wax using the D/A and a 3 inch finishing pad, speed 3.
Taking brakes of using the buffer between steps, the interior was vacuumed, carpets and floor mats cleaned, plastics and dash (#39, #40), and leather cleaned and then protected , I love Meguiar's products. All plastic treated and all rubber seals cleaned and protected on the outside of car as well. The canvas soft top was cleaned and protected as well. All fender wells cleaned and protected.

Keep in mind this was done before the new products were brought out in 2011.
All products used was made by Meguiar's except the soft top cleaner and protection and the white Gas used to clean the finder liners (track rubber stuck to liners)
While I had his car I installed a CAI by AFE and had his OEM rimes chromed.

My friend was very pleased with the way the car turned out, most importantly so was I. I use the same steps on my Z4 , however, it is silver and will never look like dark blue does. I basically proved to myself the the process works and that silver will always be silver.
