  • 2011 Equinox, 2007 Civic and 2008 G5 GT

Another busy week-end for me with 3 cars on the do to list. Thankfully 2 basic wash and wax and only one full job.
I began on Saturday morning with a very dirty 2011 Chevrolet Equinox 1LT AWD with 9700 km only. It’s my best friend mother’s car, so I did a little more than requested for her. They were going to a wedding on Sunday so she wanted the car all cleaned up and shiny.
Everyday, she is driving to work using a dirt road as a short cut. This explain why the car is so dirty on the outside. However, the inside only needed a vac and a quick wipe down.

    Process :
Wash the rims, tires and wheel wells using NXT soap and APC
Wash the car with NXT soap, including the jambs
Clay with Ricardo Yellow Clay and LastTouch/Water as a lube, then had to throw the clay away !
    Rewash with Gold Class
Dry with an Absorber and a Dehydrator Towel
Polish with Ultimate Polish and a white LC 5,5’’ pad
Wax with Ultimate Liquid Wax and a blue 5,5’’ LC pad
Ultimate Quick Wax on the windows, rims and jambs
ASD on the tires and wells
Ultimate Protectant cream on the lower plastic trims

    Vac/dry brush/vac
Clean windows with NXT Glass Cleaner
    Vinyl with Quick Interior Detailer

I began at 8h in the morning, but didn’t have time to lose because we were giving our annual Family HotDog & Salad Party. People would start to arrive at 3h PM. I was done at 2h35, just in time to take a shower.
The owner was very very pleased with the look of her car when she came to pick it. She told me that it was even looking better then when she picked it brand new at the dealer last November. 

Then this morning, my sister asked me to wash and wax her car, a 2007 Honda Civic EX with 84500 km.
No before pictures and it was pretty clean to begin with. The last time I washed it was a couple of weeks ago, the last time she visited us.
Don't mind the scratches on both bumpers. She have to park in the street all week long at work. They will be repainted sometime later this year.

      Process : (exterior only)
Wash rims, tires and wells with Gold Class
      Wash with Gold Class
Dry with an Absorber and a Dehydrator towel
      Wax with Ultimate Liquid Wax
Ultimate Quick Wax on the rims and door jambs
Armor All Extreme Shine Tire Spray on the tire

And finally this afternoon, a 2008 Pontiac G5 GT with a little less than 60 000 km. Second time I wash this car. The poor car is in huge need for a paint decontamination and correction but since I can only have the car for less than 2 hours, then is not much I can do. The owner is supposed to contact me in the beginning of August while I will be on Holidays for a bigger detail.
No before pictures, but it was not this bad.

        Process :
Wash rims, tires and wheel wells with NXT soap and APC
        Wash with Gold Class
Dry with an Absorber and a Dehydrator towel
Ultimate Quick Wax on the paint, rims and windows
Armor All Extreme Shine Tire gel on the tires
Quick interior wipe down and vac

        Looks good for a distance

But a closer look tells us the truth.
I hope to be able to remake a beauty to this car before the end of the summer.

          Looks really nice.

Seems like you service some new vehicles that get dirty quick.

            Nice work!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Great work, the caked up jambs on the equinox were ridiculous

Yes it was really bad, even more for a car that is not even a year old yet.

                Thanks for the comments guys.

Somebody was really busy this weekend.

The Equinox turned out really good. That car was in a desperate need for some detailing.

One suggestion: replacement of Armor All Extreme Shine with Meguiar's Endurance Tire Spray (long lasting) or NxT Insane Shine Tire Spray (most gloss).

Annual Family HotDog & Salad Party must have been a nice event between detailing projects.

                    Thank you !

I used the Armor All gel tire shine on those 2 cars because this dressing only look good on the those Nankang tires both of them had. My bottle is now almost empty and I won't buy this thing again.
I do have the new Endurance spray in my arsenal, but don't have the NXT Insane Shine at the moment. I have also a few tire dressing by Meg's.

And yes, the party was nice with aunts, uncles, cousins, grand-parents. We had a good time outside in the sun.
