Mini detail on my sister's black CRV

Here's a video showing the results of a mini detail on my sister's CRV.

Process:
1) ONR wash
2) Lightly clay bottom portion of vehicle as that was all that was really needed
3) Apply M66 Quick Detailer Cleaner/Wax on speed 5 using an LC white polishing pad
4) Apply NXT Tech Wax 2.0
5)About 2.5 hours later, wipe down car with Ultimate Quik Detailer
6) Wipe down car with Ultimate Quik Wax

Awesome job Shawn!! The paint looks like liquid glass!! I love a properly detailed black car and you did a phenomenal job with the black CR-V!

I have a few questions for my own edification. Forgive me if you covered this in the video, but I've watched it but have not listened to it yet.

Is M66 a version of ColorX or vise versa?

I've often been tempted to use either and or both UQW and UQD after waxing to give the wax that extra bit of protection. However, I'm never too sure of the interactions of those combinations on fresh wax.

What benefits do you wish to gain as a result of you following NXT with both UQD and then UQW? The literature indicates NXT is already hydrophobic.

Do you worry that the use of UQW or UQD will "disturb" the wax you've just put down, in this case NXT?

Would you worry that the use of UQW or UQD would "disturb" say Gold Class or even M21?

Is my thinking wrong that with Ultimate Wax using UQW or UQD should not be used until the end of the 12 hour cure time?

The M66 worked really well in the sun with no dusting and easy removal even after sitting on the car for an hour. That really surprised me.

NXT 2.0 has always been finicky and the sun makes it even worse but I was determined to make it work. Here is what I did:

1) Apply NXT 2.0 via G110v2 on speed 3. I try to wax only by machine when working in the sun as it makes the wax spread easier and not cake-up. Don't ask me why this is but it's what I notice.

2) Let NXT 2.0 sit for no more than 10-15 mins on the surface and remove it. IT WILL STREAK. No two ways about it. But, only wipe the surface with 1-2 passes not trying to remove the streaks but only the excess wax. Leave the streaks. If you keep wiping then you will only remove more and more of the wax that has not cured yet. This reduces the protection on your car.

3) Let it sit for about 2 hours and by this time the polymers will start to even themselves out (at least in my experience). Hit the entire car with UQD to remove any light dust. I also find the polymers in UQD help even out any streaks.

4) Hit the entire car with UQW as it will restore any wax you previously remove by excess wiping, UQD, etc. and to ensure a streak free finish.

According to Mike Phillips, M66, Colorx and M06 have about the same cut with M66 being slightly more aggressive.

The whole polymer game is above my head so I just do what works and this process has helped ensure that the car is streak free.

I mean, I have not seen any real problems with the polymers in these different products interacting before the 12 hour period. Is the 12 hour period optimal? Yes. But, I didn't have 12 hours lol.

Really nice results and indeed like Marc08EX said, you and Nick make me want to try M66 too. I've used D151 but don't really like it, hard to work with and to wipe off but results are nice too.

What are some other good one step products except M66?

I too have been using ONR as of late. Just used it today on a Venza. Forgot how easy it is to use.
