  • Dark Blue Nissan Sentra - My first try!

So, my G110V2, microfiber correction kit, and a bunch of other Meguiar's goodies arrived last Friday. I've been really eager to try them all out, but my STi has been in the shop for a month from an accident, and my wife's 2010 Pearl White Legacy doesn't quite need the MF Correction yet. What to do??

Enter my friends Dark Blue 2006 Nissan Sentra:

Man o' Man, look at those scratches! I have NO idea what happened to this poor car, but it looked awful. Those random scratches were all over any horizontal surface. Looks like a prime candidate for the MF Correction system, no?

I gave it a good wash with Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo/Wash, clay bared with the Meguiar's Clay Kit until smooth, and then it was time for the MF Correction!

Keeping in mind that I had NEVER used the DA polisher, nor any other scratch correction compound by hand before...I think the results were pretty good.

Using the DA was amazingly easy. I followed the forum post on how to use the MF correction system to keep my pad looking fluffy with some air, and tried to use as little product as i could. I twas hard to tell when I needed to put more D300 on. Being my first time, I'm sure I used waaay more than I needed to, but I tried to be pretty sparing with it. I could definitely tell when I needed to fluff the pad back up though.

It was getting dark by the time I finished up, but I took a few pictures of the really bad areas. I need to get more, but you can see how well it worked!

It ate through those crazy scratches like it was nothing. Those watermarks around the sprayer were eliminated as well. I did notice that a couple of the deeper ones stood out at the end. I didn't want to keep working away at a wide area just to correct one scratch here and there.

I did have some Ultimate Compound that i tried to use by hand on the deeper ones, but I only had a soft foam applicator pad to do it with, so I was getting nowhere fast.

What pad do you guys use for good cut by hand with UC?? I definitely need something for the scratch spot treatment!

Nissan Spec V? or 1.8? Nissan paints are ****** cheap and soft. UC or 205 on a DA should take care of it.

It is just the 1.8. That might explain the scratches that were EVERYWHERE, and why they were so easy to get rid of.

What pad do you recommend with UC on a DA? I couldn't get anywhere by hand, which was kind of surprising.

Looks good! I second what frozenbarb said, Nissan paint isn't really the best out there. Mine front bumper and hood chip like crazy.
