This van was in fair shape but had a lot of areas that needed dialing in, it gets detailed several times a year by some other local car performance & appearance shop but I was able to convince the owner to give me a chance.

    Before:

Lots of random areas with dirt & debris so a general shot would not show much.

    Interior:

    Vac/dry brush/vac.
Carpets/ rubber mats shampooed with 3D Carpet Shampoo.
Interior cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner & hot water mix.
Vinyl/leather dressed with Quik Interior Detailer.
    Jambs cleaned with ONR.
Glass cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate.

    After:

This area was loaded with grime before.

    Engine:

    Washed with Super Soap.
    Dressed with Hyper-Dressing 3:1.
    Painted areas treated with ONR.

    After:

    Exterior:

Foamed & washed with Super Soap.
Clayed with ONR & Meguiars white clay.
    Tar treated with Tarminator.
    Polished/waxed with #66 - Quick Detailer (Cleaner/Wax) via PCXP.
    Tires/wells dressed with Hyper-Dressing 2:1.

    During the wash:

    After:

    =============================================

    2009 BMW 650i.

Same client as the van, he had a convertible he said he wanted cleaned up as well.

    Before:

The O ring on my pressure washer needed to be replaced, forgot about getting it taken care of, which was not good as the brake dust was caked in on the inner barrels. Usually a pressure washer and Wheel Brightener make for a deadly combo but if you do not use them both you lose a little.

Good thing the inners were easy to access.

    Interior:

    Vac/dry brush/vac.
Floor mats shampooed with 3D Carpet Shampoo.
Interior cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner & hot water mix.
Vinyl/leather dressed with Quik Interior Detailer.
    Jambs cleaned with ONR.
Glass cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate 10:1.

Found this while vacumming the trunk.

You cannot compete with the best car wash franchise in IL.

    After:

    Engine.

    Washed with Shampoo Plus.
    Dressed with Hyper-Dressing 3:1.
    Painted shuts cleaned with ONR.

    After:

    Exterior:

The car was almolst defect free with the exception of some light marring on the hood & trunk a spot on the rear fender.

Foamed & washed with Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner.
Clayed with Meguiars white clay & ONR.
    Tar treated with Tarminator.
Hood & trunk polished with D300 Correction Compound via PCXP.
Waxed/sealed with D301 Finishing Wax via PCXP.
    Tires/wells dressed with Hyper-Dressing 2:1.

    Nick,
Both vehicles are spotless. Hopefully you have gained another client after doing the mini van. Great work...and as for the Beemer....well, looks obviously speak for themselves!!

Can you tell me what pads you used with the pc and D300 and D301? I'm curious only in that all but one of the MF pads for the D300 and one for the D301 have come apart on me. With a client due Monday, I will have to revert to another pad type. I have plenty of LC pads if those will work with the D3XX stuff until I can get my MF pads replaced thru Meguiars.

    Thanks Nick...great job.

      Thanks Don.

Sorry to hear about your pad failures.

Right now I am using either LC CCS 5.5" green or white pads, and also Meguiars W8207 polishing pads.

The green is more for AIO type applications and the white is for final polishing type applications.

To be honest I have found the Meguiars W8207 pads to cut much better than the LC green pads when using the D300. The only porblem is they seem so huge when being used to using 5" pads.

I used the D300 a few times with the green LC pads and it cleaned the paint up a lot but if I had used a cutting disc I would get twice as much correction.

I just finished doing a semi correction on an older black Benz and used only two cutting discs on the entire car. I read somewhere on here that you can use one to do the entire car but you must keep the pad clean at all times.

What LC pads do you have on hand Don?

I am just curious as I have all but the orange and yellow and wasnt sure about buying them as they seemed really aggressive looking.

          Nick,
I am sure Meguiars will replace the MF Pads, I just need to contact Customer service.

I use (have) White (bring up to full gloss), Orange (light paint correction) and Green (remove light swirls and holograms) pads (5.5 and some 6.5). I don't have any yellow (heavy paint correction), but the Orange is suppose to be for light correction as per the chart listed here on ADS. I also use Meguiars W8207's and agree with you. After using 5.5's, the 7inch pads seem HUMUNGOUS.

When you mention cutting discs above, you're speaking of the MF cutting (red pad) sold with/for the D300 compound correct?

            Great detailing, Nick.

One step correction (except Bimmer's hood and trunk) brought both vehicle's paint back to great shape. Nice detailed work on exteriors and engines as well.

Nick, what do you charge for "Interior Spiff"? And does "Fast Wax" come in paste or liquid??...lol I can't believe that place is still around! Been there for 15-20 years if I remember right!

Yes, the MF cutting discs sold with the D300 are what I was talking about.

I may have to pick up some of those orange and yellow LC pads, my green pads are getting worn out and seem to be losing their cut.

                    Nick,

I've always used the LC orange pads for correction either with M105 or Menz SIP. They work great! I find the LC yellow very hard to work with because the pad is just so stiff.

I would recommend cyan Hydro-Tech pads instead of yellow cutting pads. They finish much better with just slightly less cut and they're also available in low profile version 5.5"/ 7/8".

Very nice work once again Nick.
I did a black Denali yesterday using D301 and a green 5" LC pads for the first time and it seemed to remove light swirls as well. Was very very easy to wipe off.
How you you shampoo the carpet ? Just spraying the carpet wit the shampoo, then brush, then vac to dry them ? Carpet is one of those things that I'm never able to get how I would like to.

Great work on both vehicle Nick. Do you use an extractor for the carpets? Nick I personally never use Yellow LC pads I use Orange or step up to Purple Foam Wool, I have lately been using Buff and Shine, Yellow B&S pad has been working great for me even as a one step.
Don I have used Orange LC pads with D300 speed 5 no faster unless you like dust. This combo is awesome and finishes off fantastic

Do you have any threads describing your process when cleaning carpets?? I am going to order some of the 3D carpet shampoo you use and I just picked up a SM Arnold carpet brush sorta like what you use. Your carpets always look amazing. I can figure out how your getting the carpet shampoo out. Are you simply using the shop vac to go over it or do you have a little green machine that extracts the shampoo solution? I bow to your carpet cleaning skills.

First off, thanks again everyone for the kind comments. I appreciate it.

Greg & Marco, I will probably pick up a few orange LC pads and most likely just pick up more Meguiars cutting discs as well. The MF discs cut really nice. I do get a haze now and then but the finishing wax and finishing disc clear all that up.

Sal, Pursuit, MrCLRider, I have my carpet cleaning process here somewhere but would be more than happy to go through it again.

Been using 3D Carpet Shampoo the last six months but before that was using Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner.

For carpeted floor mats I am able to remove them from the vehicle and pressure wash them to release the cleaning solution and all the gunk. You would be suprised the amount of gunk a pressure washer will release. I then shop vac out all excess water and let to dry in the sun but not to long as tha will make them to stiff if let sit in the heat all day.

For the carpet inside the vehicle I use a combo of the 3D and APC Plus.

I also use a limited amount of shampoo for the carpets and am careful not to get them too wet and not to create a large amount of cleaning solution to build up. I scrub gently with a brush and go over areas as much as needed. I can usually tell when a stain is really set in or not.

I then shop vac all water and cleaning solution out, followed by a wet towel scrubbing until all dirt and cleaning solution is pulled out of the carpeting. I keep a clean hot water bucket to keep the wet rinse towel clean.

Re vac, towel dry, air dry, repeat until 99% dry.

I prefer to vacumm the nap of the carpet in all one direction. The stripes look cheap to me.

Prior to all this is a thorough vacumm and dry brush to release all loose debris. Dry brushing a carpet filled with salt is a must too as it breaks it all up.

Let me know if you have any more specific questions regarding the process.
