  • 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo - DA/MF System

I was out in the garage until Midnight last night working on this 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo and then I was back out there again at 6:00am this morning to finish it up my 8:30am.

This is the 2nd vehicle that I have done using the new DA Microfiber Correction System and I absolutely love it.

No big write up..... Just a few pics to show the results.

    50/50 shot

Finished shots when I pulled it out this morning.

The Jeep looks very nice, Brian.

I really like 50/50 shot which shows what DA MF Correction System can do.

Great job on the jeep! That 50/50 shot is beautiful!

The after shots really make the paint look wet especially the front fender. The 2nd after pic is just dripping wet.

Man I can't edit my post anymore...

How long did the whole process take you? Did you use D301 after D300 or did you use anything else?

My process was clay with C2000
D300 on speed 4 on PCXP with 5" MF Cutting Disc
Meguiar's #26 High Tech Yellow Wax on blue Lake Country flat pad.

D300 finished out so well on this vehicle that I decided to not follow up with D301. This is a daily driver with over 100,000 miles and I was not looking for 100% flawless show quality results, so instead of following up with the D301 polish/wax I just went straight to #26 wax.

It came out exceptionally well even without following up with D301 or another polish.

It probably took me 15 hours or so from start to finish with washing, compounding, waxing and interior etc....

I don't claim to be the fastest.

Wow that sounds great! How many hours did the D300 step take you?

Not sure exactly. The Claying, taping and D300 probably took me 8 to 10 hours maybe? I was taking my time.

Great job. No one would know that this is a 100 000+ miles daily driver by seeing those pictures.
Even if you said you're not the fastest, you got awesome results and that's all that matters.

Very nice job !!!...I've used this new system only twice now but it is fantastic ...I too find that the finish I get after using D300 is not going to benefit much more from D301 so I went right to Ultimate Wax in both cases...don't know if spending the extra time to do the D301 step would make enough of a difference to warrant the investment in time...I wonder what others are doing ??

It's very common that D300 finishes so well that you can go straight to your LSP skipping D301. It happens to me too. But whenever I see even little haze D301 comes to the rescue.

                        Nice job!

I like the look of D301. Leaves a really clear, glossy finish.

                          Thanks everyone.

Yes, D300 finished out really nice on this Jeep with little noticeable difference by following up with D301. However when I used D300 followed by D301on my truck a while back, there was definitely a noticeable difference. Each vehicle's paint system could react differently so it is nice to have both products on hand just in case.

Awesome results indeed! That thing looks better than new!

I've been experimenting with D300 and then other products and/or waxes and so far I have to say I like the look of doing a D301 pass better. So far at least - there are a lot of options and they all look good!

Finally, after 40+ years of wanting to; now the products and tools are there to enable making show car finishes at will. Life is Good.
