  • My first 'show off' post...

    I recently acquired a 2003 Dodge Dakota R/T for my 'go-to-work' truck and being the guy I am I could resist 'fixing' it a bit.

    Headlights were your normal cloudy plastic items;

    Some 1500 and 3000 wet sanding, then a pass of D300 and D301 for good measure and we are good to go I'm thinking.

    Whatever was used by the dealer hid the scratches, swirls and holograms well - I was appalled after doing an IPA wipedown.

    The whole truck was pretty close to this condition.

    Following directions for the MF Microfiber D300/D301 products and then following up with NXT 2.0 gave me these results.

    I still have a couple of panels to go, but I'm just loving the results so far!

    Thanks for looking!

    Mike

        Very nice job...IMO restoring old cloudy headlights is one of the most rewarding things to do.

                Nice work. Big difference in the finish and the headlights as well.

                  Coming out really good, Mike.

                  Car dealers are pretty good with defect hiding.

                    Thanks Guys - this is turning into more than a 'something-to-leave-in-the-parking-lot' truck, it's coming out nice enough to not want to daily drive it.

                    All the pics for this one will live here, and I'll be taking more all the time. I'm on standby this week and so far haven't made it out of the house much.

                    The bad part about the DA MF kit is that now I have to do the Magnum all over again! It looks 'Good', but it will look even better.

                      Looks great! Wish I knew half of what I did about wet-sanding and buffing when I got my Dakota. Instead of doing what you did with your headlights, I bought new ones...

                      Looking forward to seein' more!

                        I like the look of your headlights, I recently bought 2000 Durango, needs lot of paint but not body work and seen the tips for the headlights you did. Did you use the Meguiars product, I didnt know if they were supposed to be that clean and have been watching durangos and dakotas ever since getting mine but couldnt really tell, but anyway, if you did the Meguiars let me know cause thats what i want mine to look like!!!!
