  • 2004 Mercedes Benz SL 500

One of my regulars called me out to give this car a really good detail since it has been a year & a half since I detailed it last. Might have washed it once or twice in that time though.

It has less than 2k miles & is seven years old, they only put a couple hundred of miles a year on it.

I only have a few befores as there is not much in the way of dirt & grime to show.

    Interior first,

    Dry brush/vacumm/dry brush.
    Door/engine/trunk jambs cleaned with ONR.
Interior cleaned & dressed with Quik Interior Detailer.

    Exterior before:

Foamed & washed with Shampoo Plus.
Clayed paint/wheels with Meguiars blue clay & ONR.
Waxed/sealed with D301 Finishing Wax via PCXP.
    Tires/fenderwells dressed with Hyper-Dressing 1:1.
Glass cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate 10:1.
    Engine wiped down with ONR.

    During the wash:

    Afters:

I also washed/sealed the X5 while I was there but have already posted that vehicle before a few times.

Great job Nick! The SL looks perfect! How would you compare D301 to the consumer LSP's like NXT 2.0 or UW? When you do the D301, do you apply moderate pressure?

Wow 2k miles for a 7 year old car?! I'll be the first in line when he sells that thing!! Do you think he's going to sell it?

          Thank you.

I prefer D301 over NXT, have not tried UW.

I apply very little pressure but I work it into the finish lightly.

No, they will not sell it. This is one of his wife's toys.

Supposed to be doing her Corvette soon too. Havent done it in about a year or so.

            Nick,
This is not to say your photos were bad before, but did you change cameras? Those interior shots look like they were ripped out of the sales brochure.

            Excellant work, as always.

Great work Nick. I like the finish the D301 brought out.

So you weren't trying to do minor correction with the D301? You were just using it for its wax purpose right?
