I took some days off from work just to get away. I've needed some garage time and since the lovely Mrs. always complains my car is so clean compared to her mommy-mobile I decided to give it a spring cleaning.
The interior is kept very clean since this is her daily driver and twin daughter hauler. The outside however was in need of some work.
I started with a simple wash using 2 buckets w/Grit Gards, MF wash mitts and some Gold Class Car Shampoo. Wheel wells and tires were cleaned with APC and brushes while wheels were cleaned with Wheel Brightener. I dried her off using pooling rinse followed by Water Magnets. I then got out my Metro Vac n Blo and cleared out all the nooks and crannies of 'hidden" water. Doors jambs, trunk and hood margins got wiped down with ONR at detail spray dilution.
I clayed the paint and glass using ONR for clay lube. Since the finish was filthy and the clay was marginal at best for continued use I clayed her wheels as well.
I used Ultimate Compound on a Lake Country CCS white pad on my Griot's Garage DA polisher set at 5.5. This gave great results. I did however have to break out M105 on two troublesome areas. I then used Ultimate Polish on the same type pad @ same speed and loved what I saw. (Unfortunately her TBSS is silver so it does not photograph well with our old point & shoot camera and poor garage lighting.)

I followed this with two light coats of NXT 2.0 applied with a Lake Country CCS grey polishing pad set at 3. Wax was removed with Supreme Shine MF towels.
Wheels also got two thin coats of NXT 2.0. Wheel arches, tires, plastics and etc. were treated to Hyper Dressing @ 3:1. Of course after all of this work it rained.
Window exteriors, sunroof, headlights, taillights and mirrors got two applications of Ultimate Quik Wax.
Here she is in the driveway today.

As Nick (Tuck91) will tell you, we should start our plans for building an ark. My wife drove her to Chicago and back yesterday in the rain, but she (the vehicle, not the wife) stills looks nice. The wife always looks good. This weekend is supposed to be dry so I'll give her a quick Ultimate Wash n Wax at that time.
