Re: Yah ever seen a waxed car, son?

Ok finished. I scrubbed my tires with dawn/water to de-grease them and hosed them down. After they dried I applied the Eagle One spray. I started by spraying on a sponge and wiping the sponge on my tire, but it wasn't really effective and I realized half of the product was staying on the sponge. I sprayed it directly onto the tire instead and worked it in, rubbing with my sponge. Did about 2 or 3 layers (dont know if that was necessary) while continuing to rub it in and spread it evenly. I must say my tires look good, better than I ever remember.

I don't know what the deal with slinging is. I drove a little only 30 minutes after I applied the dressing, but saw no tire sling afterwards. I didn't think I'd get it either - even if it was still wet, I worked it in pretty good with the sponge. So how does tire sling happen? People just spray the stuff and don't even bother to wipe it? Hmm.

Anyways, after work tomorrow, maybe I'll take some more pictures. Thanks a lot guys. This forum is inspiring.

        Much better!

I like to use a sponge because usually when I spray that particular kind of tire shine onto the tire itself, it splashes onto the paint.

And yes, a lot of people just spray it on, and drive away which is why they get sling.

Much better with the tires man...a waxed car with dirty tires is like a 3 piece suit with tennis shoes on! Another good cleaner is Blech White (no i didnt spell bleach wrong on accident lol) Its STRONG but works really good...spray it on...and if they are REAL dirty..scrub with a brush (i usually have a bucket of soapy water to dunk my brush into)...then spray clean...make sure you dont get any on your rims though...just the tires (that goes for any tire cleaner other than APC though for the most part).

I now use APC because i do a lot of cars and buying the gallon of APC just made sense...it suds up really well and cleans great...if you have a power washer..just spray on the apc and the power wash it off...works awesome.

For dressing i use meguiars Hyper Dressing...mixed 1:1 gives a great shine...2:1 is nice also...super bright...and you can spray it on and leave it just as long as you allow it to dry (which out here in Arizona doesn't take too long ).
