  • 2011 Camaro SS RS

New member, frequent lurker. Bought a new 2011 Camaro back a couple months ago, the paint was in horrible shape. I've never seen a brand new car, with paint so swirled up from miswashing. Anyway, I got my PC out, and used all Meguiars products to get it back in shape. I had to wait for the snow to melt, and temps to come up above freezing before I could start, but the weather finally gave me a break.

    The day I bought it...

    After detailing it...

        Beautiful car JLB768 - congrats

Just check that your hood is aligned properly. In the photo, it looks as if the drivers side is slightly raised at the front. Sorry if I sound picky...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Thank you. The hood looking out of alignment, is a combo of sunlight coming into the garage, and the overhead fluorescents. No need to apologize, I appreciate the heads up.

Nice work JLB. It's crazy the way dealerships can get away with cheap car washing techniques. My cousin just came by my house yesterday with his new 370Z convertible that he picked up Thursday. Swirls from front to back!

Thank you. Yeah, mine looked like they washed it with a scouring pad. You'd think they'd take better care of brand new cars sitting on a lot, but I guess things have changed. The day I bought it, it was cloudy, and snowing, so the swirls weren't obvious. As soon as I pulled it into the garage, I hit it with the halogens I use for detailing, and about went into shock.

Thank you. Jaws and The Exorcist are two of my favorite movies, still waiting on my Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Apocalypse Now movie posters

                            Looks really nice.

I did a new Camaro back in 2009 and it was actually defect free.

Thank you. When I ordered my black Corvette back in 2007, I asked the dealership not to wash it when it came in on the truck. They did as I asked, and to boot, put it on the showroom floor, roped off, with a sign that said Do Not Touch. The paint on that car was perfect, and I kept it that way until I traded it in for the Z06. I have no idea how long the Camaro sat on the lot before I bought it, but it was pretty badly swirled up.
