2005 Passat: MF D300 Paint correction and interior detail

This car belongs to a long time client of mine. It's his daily driver, it's never been hand washed by him, and it only see's touch-less or tunnel washes. It was last detailed by me in Dec '08....needless to say it was overdue for a clean up.

    Paint correction Process:
-D300 MF compound via PCXP 5" MF pads
-M205 via rotary and LC cyan foam pad
-Wet sanding was done with 3" disks 1000/2000/4000

    Paint Protection:
    -Blackfire Wet-Diamond

    Interior Process:
-Carpets/mats cleaned with Folex and the LGM. Some areas pre-treated with 303 fabric cleaner
-Vinyl and dash cleaned with OPC and/or Einszitt Cockpit Premium
-Leather cleaned with OCP and Leather Masters

    Before pics:

The result of a drunk, angry girl in a bar parking lot!

What I had to work with....

Backing plate/interface pad ( interface was not really needed with the Abralon disks)

    3" disk

    Sanded down and feathered out

Paint condition....swirls and lots of deep RIDS

Some 50/50 shots after the D300 only

D300 finished down well...only a light haze remained

Headlights looked bad so they were lightly sanded, polished, and coated with Opti-Coat ...a freebie for my good client

    Finished pics!

Crazy girl scratches all came out except for one....

around 11 microns removed total...didn't want to push it any further than that.

    Sun was going down fast....sorry

    Thanks for looking,
    Rasky

Absolutely stunning, as always. Amazing turn around on that interior, too!

Holy cow Chad. ANOTHER great job. Boy, that car was jacked! Great turn around. How long did this take?

Night and day difference, great work. What I want to know is why are there always french fries on the floors of nasty cars (pic 7 & 8)?

That is some amazing work man.
If i can ask, how did you actually get the carpet so clean? what technique did you use? I have cream carpet in my car and its turning brown/gray and i cant get is back to anywhere near clean no matter how hard i try.

Great job once again Chad. Both the interior and the exterior came out with great results.

                Looks amazing Chad.

Did an interior detail on an 05 last year and the rear floormats were just as bad as these.

                Ended up pressure washing them.

                Again, looks amazing.

LOL! You'll never find one in my car, because NOBODY eats food in my baby, not even me!

A lot of it has to do with the stains themselves I'm sure.

                  My process:

                  -Thorough vacuuming
                  -Purge with air
                  -Quick re-vacuum
-Pre-treat the soiled areas with a low foaming APC and let it sit for a few minutes.
-Extract with Folex solution in the tank, scrub with brush, extract again and repeat as needed.
-If the carpets are bad and require heavy pre-treating I will go back over the area with just water in the extractor tank to avoid the carpet drying with residue
-Follow up with a wet-vac if using the LGM, high end extractors should have adequate lift, but the LGM falls short in that area.
-Place fans inside overnight to dry

Scrubbing (agitation) with a carpet brush is most important IMO

Yeah, a pressure washer is the way to go for trashed floor mats!

                          Wow, that interior was nasty.

                          Great turnaround!

The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
