2006 Silverado Red

Just wanted to post some pictures of my 06 silverado, it was done by hand. still some swirls i think theyre pretty deep.

washed with gold class shampoo, swirlX, crystal pure polish, and nxt wax.

paint is clear and reflective just didnt get the swirls and scrathches out like i wanted. but then again i did all by hand in about 4 hours, so didnt make much love to it. but i believe ill need to go more aggressive. maybe some UC.

anyway enjoy i guess and leave some comments

I would give the UC a shot since you all ready worked with the SwirlX and werent really satisfied with the results. Spend a little more time with it and do a test spot on the hood and see how much pressure and effort will be needed to get the results you are looking for. You might want to try ColorX after the UC for additional clarity or you can follow it with your favorite wax.

Thanks for the replies, I have a DA now, I've only used it a couple times, never got around to using it on this truck.

Since you have a machine to do a test spot start with SwirlX on a polishing pad and see if that does the trick. If not then use UC on a fresh pad adjacent to SwirlX and note the differences. Then go from there on what you decide on the combo. If you go over the truck with the UC and polishing pad you might have to refine the surface with a lighter polish like UP or ColorX on a finishing pad.

@smack I believe your right, I did a UC test spot by hand and I looked like it cleared up good but I had very very fine swirls or hazing, but I'm sure a pass of swirlX or ultimate finishing polish will solve it.

UP is very very light in cleaning/cutting ability. It is used more for refining hazing. If you still have minor swirls you still want to get them all out before using the UP.

I believe UP has about the same cut as 205 which takes out light swirls and hazing rather easily.
