  • New car on a new year!!! should be a celebration but...another detailing trails by KC

One of my closest buddy who make careful planning & decision to have a * New car on a new year!!! should be a celebration but.........

*this ride cost around USD $30,000 here & in states you can probably get mustang V6 Premium Convertible 3.7L V6, 24 valves
the income couldn't match the kinda car we desire to buy, proper care is greatly measure once we have own it.

after months of waiting! the car finally delivered & he cant wait to get on to it ........ as much $$$ has been paid for this ride ... so much the responsibility to care for it!!!! how then should he protect investment .....to avoid this investment to be another liability instead of assets.

he was considering sending for a polishing waxing job....the commercial ones 3 hours for $300 ...or 4 hours for $400 kinda job...
Suddenly he remember some of my article at cars magazines.... and he called me to detail

new dirt on a new car discover along the way

look at the amount of dust & dirt trapped

    little bit more

    rain ....... & dirt

    more the boot jams area

    more on the rear

look at the amount of contamination picked up in such a short time

    tars....& road grime

more things picked up along the way

scratches already found - another abuse - far too much insane & vandaliser found on our roads

    close up

another fine scratches found on the bottom of the rear bumper

cleaning begins - deeper & getting into the detail

    ONR as the LUBE

tar like contaminant, picked up on the engine hood

more picked up along the side skirt

    more

    rear lower bumper

do you realised that - i was wearing a surgical glove while claying - coincidently while protecting a cut on my fingers & it seems to be the best for testing surface above contaminations.....I used to see others by putting on sandwich bag in their hand gliding on top of the paint to test surface imperfection ...but I have to agree with Matt Davis Meguiars Asia "less is more" why put our paint to more stress & danger

Apparently, i found an accidental hero - surgical glove.. if you cant feel it - you wouldn't know whether to remove.....* kindly rinse off prior moving on to the next area

*can you feel the love tonight*
    feeling it

    then clayed it

    more
almost four hours has gone ...... & so much more to do still

new car * with new contaminants

    lots more work

do you get what I mean by now ...how can this new car comes with plenty of defects & how to protect it ultimately this new investment - will our ride become another liability in years to come or asset

    the rescue plan was
    Wash with ONR

    Clay & ONR as lube

Paint & wax remover by Optimum Power clean (1:5 parts dilutions) & rinse off with water

    Paint corrections with Rotary
Megs 205 with Lake country (LC) CCS cutting pads (some area Optimum Hyper Compound for a bit more cutting) Spread at speed 1 - gradually increase to speed 3 - 2nd passes relube again with ONR & a gentle brisk pass -

polishing with Megs 205 with Megs w8027 pads
Spread at speed 1 - gradually increase to speed 2 - back down on speed 1 again - 2nd passes relube again with ONR & a gentle brisk pass -

finishing with Megs 205 with Lake country (LC) CCS finishing pads
Spread at speed 1 - gradually increase to speed 2 - back down on speed 1 again (reduce strokes speed)

finishing with Megs 205 with Lake country (LC) CCS glazing pads
Spread at speed 1 - gradually increase to speed 2 - back down on speed 1 again (reduce strokes speed)

    Protected by OPTI COAT

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    moving on to paint correction

here is just some of the before & after pic - many more defect pics was not taken as I was fighting against time & deadline to deliver the car

some scratches found on the hood

    ta da

    look carefully.......

nothing wrong...close up & proper lighting & angle

    remember the scratches before

    with proper lightings

    more

    ta da

    ta da

    7 hours later
    the detail engine bay
    before

    now

    protected by Optimum leather protectant

    before

    now

    the rear lower bumper now

    the micro

    ta da
    the macro side view

    another side

just after finishing with black CCS LC pads

after all the hard works & limited time left for coating - has to do it carefully as it only require once & for all

ta da after finishing with purple LC pads with Megs M205

    the finalle

    the clarity

    after Opti-Coat applied

    more

time to deliver the car back

    now its time for celebration

    KC,

Sorry we missed another of your great projects.

I just admire your attention to every little detail. Fantastic work, as always. I know that you couldn't sleep until the vehicle is in absolutely perfect condition.

By the way, I've got a nice multi size detailing brush set for my projects after reading your posts.

Mama mia! It seems, for some really strange reason, we all missed this post.

KC, we've seen you take so many cars back from a horrible state, but it's really nice to see a new car receive your tender loving care and start it's life on the right foot. Or tire.

Great work all around, as usual!!
