  • Ouch......

So I received a 911 emergency call on Saturday from a repeat customer that recently had a nice scrape tattooed on his Aston Martin Vanquish front bumper. The guy that backed his beat up red pick up truck from what I was told from my customer, was nobody the he wanted to ever cross paths with again. So when the driver of the truck offered to exchange info, my client got out of his vehicle, looked at the damage and replied......Have a Happy Thanksgiving, proceeded to get in his Aston and split.

So when I arrived on Saturday morning, this is what I had to repair......

    Definitely a nice scrape....

In my first step, I clean all the paint transfer thoroughly with Stoner "Tarminator"

    Before chemically removing transfer

    After removing paint chemically

Next step was to level out all scuff marks and gauges with some wet 2000 grit Abralon

After all defects were leveled out and ready for polishing

What else for the next step than Meguiar's M105

My PC 7424XP, Cyan 7/8 inch cutting pad and M105 on the repair area ready to go....

After my first pass, the damage and color sanding traces are 99% gone...No rotary polisher required for this repair

20 minutes later, this is the results.......no insurance claim, no crossing paths with some shady stranger ever again (person who hit the bumper) my customer was thrilled!

    The before shot again.......

Along with the paint repair I provided my client with my "Mini Detail" service since I had detailed the vehicle about 3 months ago.

some cool water beading shots after my prep wash.......definitely well protected as you can see thanks to Poly's and my R/O water.

Here are some of the after shots, which hosted some awesome images of the sun and the clouds....

Thank you for viewing, Happy Holidays!!

..... nah, that'll buff right out.

Apparently this customer of yours has great faith in you, and rightfully so. Great work on a beautiful car - and awesome reflection shots, too!

Great save on a nice car! I'm amazed on the owner's composure. I couldn't believe he didn't call the cops or anything like that. I would have blown up on the red pick up driver's face.

Thanks!...In his mind he must of known that he would just call me and get it handled....I would of done the same, but the damage occurred on private property unfortunately.

Thank you so much for the nice words...hopefully this will answer your questions....

Mirka Abralon is a brand of Sand Paper

I would have to say that the Meguiar's Burgundy cutting pad is the most compatible pad to this blue LC pad

I did not have to finish this area up with 205.... with the blue pad, PC set at speed 6 and M105 I was able to finish this area to a 99% perfection. I then followed up with M21 for my LSP

I will post later on what products were used on this vehicles detail...

Thanks, definitely a very amazing vehicle for it's age.....and considering that the owner regularly flies it back and forth to Europe on a jumbo jet.
