  • 2007 Lincoln MKX, '10 Explorer

    2007 Lincoln MKX, 36k miles.

Interior detail and a basic wash/seal.

I washed the wheels, tires and wells with All Purpose Cleaner, foamed them up with Deep Crystal Car Wash in my foam gun, agitated, then rinsed.

I foamed the body with 6oz of Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner and filled the rest with water in my foam gun. I used several Meguiars wash mitts.

Rinsed, then dried with several Water Magnets.

I did a dry brush and vac on the interior carpet and mats.

I cleaned the floor mats with All Purpose Cleaner at 4:1, agitated, then rinsed them with my pressure washer, shop vac'd, towel dried, set in sun to dry 100% and then vacummed them again before placing them in the vehicle.

The interior carpet was just spot treatment of stains.

All hard surfaces and leather were cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner, terry cloths, and various brushes, and then dressed with Quik Interior Detailer.

All glass was cleaned inside and out with Glass Cleaner Concentrate at 10:1 and terry cloths.

All vents and crevices were brushed out as well.

The jambs were cleaned with Last Touch Spray Detailer at 1:1.

The exterior was clayed with Last Touch Spray Detailer at 1:1 and Detailing Clay (Mild).

I sealed the paint with #20 - Polymer Sealant and my PC.

Tires and wells were dressed with Hyper-Dressing at 2:1.

Typical black vehicle that is swirled up a bit. Too bad all I was doing was a basic detail, would love to knock out or at least reduce the swirling.

    ============================

    2010 Ford Explorer, 10k miles.

This truck was only a couple months old and in very good shape.

Client wanted a basic wash/seal on the exterior. I also did a vac and wipedown on the interior.

Same process as above except for the interior cleaning.

    A couple befores:

Just a few afters in the garage.

Great job Nick. Why not use M66 on the Lincoln to knock down some of the swirls? The black still looks great though.

The wheels on the Explorer turned out really nice. Great job.

Did the job for dirt cheap ($150) and the owner needed the vehicle back in a little less than five hours.

Hey, Tuck91, noticed everytime you foam the cars, you use 6oz of car shampoo. Do you fill it all the way up to 32oz line? Or more? I know that most of the resevoirs that come with foam guns are 32oz (graduated line), but can actually accept more.

                        Thanks Paul.

                        No, not really.

The last time I handwashed it was August I believe.

I might clean it up to sell soon. I want a new truck.
