Ok guys, so i decided to buy myself a snowmobile this past week and with this weekend being a wet cold yucky weekend i figured it would be a GREAT time to pull the trailer inside and do some cleaning on the snowmobile. Now, the previous owner was very meticulous about his vehicle etc and he kept it clean, cleaner than 99% of most other snowmobiles im sure. However, i wanted to do it myself to make sure i used the products i wanted to use on it as well as clean/detail it the way I wanted! I didnt take any befores as the results arent THAT different, i know i rubbed out some scratches etc but there were no major defects in the paint on this. On to the process.
Wash: Since he washed it right before he sold it i just opted to do a quick UQD wipe down on it and the MF came out clean. No bonded contaminants so claying was not nesc.
Correction: Ult Compound by hand, one time, over entire front hood and painted sections. Followed it up with M205 by hand, one time over same area as Ult Compound.
LSP/Protection: M21 2.0 by hand, 2 times in a 16 hr period (let cure for about 14 hrs between coats) and allowed to dry 30-45 min per application.
Tunnel/foot rests: Polished the uncoated aluminum with Hot Rims Mag and Alum polish, terry pad came out BLACK!
Plastics: Dressed all plastics around "instrument cluster/knee bolsters" as well as all plastics under front half of machine with Ultimate Protectant. Also dressed rear "snow flap" behind track with Ult Protectant.
Seat/vinyl areas: Applied M40 to entine seat/vinyl areas to allow the conditioners to work their way in and preserve the vinyl. Before riding i will THOROUGHLY wipe down entire seat area with APC and/or QID to clean all topical remains of M40 off and hope to god the slipperyness gets taken with it!
Thats about all i did for now, i know the skis and suspension still needs some TLC as theres some surface rust on them and their dirty, but the skis were wet from yesterday and still wet today so i will opt for a nice day to take it all outside and probably re spray skis black and touch up any surface rust areas not within ski area.
Pictures: (last night and today)
Last Night: (1 coat M21, plastics not fully dressed, alum and seat not touched)

No Major Defects!

Today: (2nd coat of M21, polished tunnel/foot rests, seat/vinyl areas dressed, plastics under front half of snowmobile dressed)

Beutiful reflection from inside garage on dreary day!!

Thats all i have right now. I will get updated pictures as i continue to touch on the small stuff and big stuff.
