  • Single Stage Red Test

Just picked up some Megs products and have been practicing bringing my mustangs paint back to life. Washed the car with Gold Class and then clayed the car. The below 50/50 shows the results of Ultimate Compound, Deep Crystal Polish, and Deep Crystal Wax, all done by hand. I think it came out decent, but did not correct 100% of the oxidation. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

You could always try #80.....kicks butt on single stage I hear. I know for me, does wonders on my black CC paint. UC hazes the paint a little.

Just saw you are working by hand.....you could always try a second app of the UC.

I am planning on picking up a pc7424 in the near future, just wanted to see what I could accomplish by hand before spending a few hundred on a DA. I now see that it will definately be worth the money! Any suggestions or a proven method for removing light oxidation and swirls from SS paint with a DA polisher?

I would get a quart bottle of #80 and try that. By hand, then with the d/a.

I will look for some #80 This evening. Hopefully I can find some locally. I know that stores such as Walmart does not carry the professional series of Meguairs, just hoping I dont have to order it online!

I have also noticed that there are still a few small scratches/swirls left over after the UC. Will the #80 provide different results or should I be looking for another product to remove the small scratches before applying a LSP?
