I decided to do my sister's new car the other day as it hadn't been washed since the dealership washed it about a month ago.
I wanted to use osme D151 but time contraints limited me to claying and applying NXT 2.0. I really wanted to clean the pain a little but I simply couldn't afford any more time. I apply NXT 2.0 to all my family's cars because I don't know when I will wash them next so I like to be sure there is substantial protection.
Also, as some of you know from my other thread on a 2007 Honda Pilot, I am experimenting with a few processes so looking for some feedback. In this detail I tried some of the Armor All Protectant Gel on the exterior trim. Why? Why not?
On to the pictures of the process:
BEFORE:

The paint has light swirls throughout which is why I wanted to hit it with D151.

I am not sure what the dealership applied to the tires but there is still some left. It was extremely greasy stuff. In fact, when I first brought my Civic home I swiped my finger across the tire and a pile of oil came off.

DURING:
The inside of the wheels were dirty but at least there was very little time for the brake dust to bond with the wheel so it came off easily with Dawn. Yes, for first time washes or wahses with very dirty wheels and ties, Dawn is my new go to soap for wheels and tires.

I cleaned the tires with Super Degreaser at 4:1 and scrubbed with Dawn. I use about 3 ounces in a small 2 gallon bucket.

I fomed the car down with my Carrand wand from Wal-Mart and Rain-x Foaming Car Wash Concentrate. However, I am of throwing this stuff away and going back to Deep Crystal. This Rain-X soap simply doesn't clean as well, foam as well and doesn't foam as long as Deep Crystal.
I actually had to refill the wand with Rain-X Foaming Car Wash because it stopped foaming so quickly.
Simply put, don't be cheap, go Meguiars. Deep Crystal is only $7 a gallon from Wal-Mart which is a steal.

I have really become a huge fan of NXT Car Wash. If it was cheaper around me, it would be my staple for washing and foaming. But, my 64 oz. jug cost me $12 at the only store that carries it.

AFTER:
I decided to dress the tires with Hot Shine Trigger Spray and the wheel wells with some Eagle One Tire Shine (it's old and I'm trying to use it up before winter).

Like I said before, I waxed the car with NXT 2.0. Here is what a thin coat should look like......and it actually could be a little thinner but I was rushing a little bit.

Don't mind the wax streaks. I removed a little early.

And here is the money shot. Not too shabby for Honda paint that has only been waxed.

As aforementioned, I dressed the trim with Armor All Protectant Gel. This product had a pretty easy application and did not have the typical Armor All Gloss or greasy feeling. It didn't clean the trim at all but it enriched the color well. Once again, Armor All will not crack material. Bad materials will crack all by themselves.

And one before/after of the driver's side carpet. I gave it a quick vac and dressed the interior with QID. No pics of the rest of the interior though. I forgot about them.
I actually took the second one about a half hour ago at 9:45 om, hence why it is so dark.

Thanks for viewing another one of my threads. I am trying to learn the best way to do these so any feedback on organization, description/detail, etc. is appreciated.
Hope you enjoyed.
