  • my first real detail

so here is a little "mise en situation" I was asked by my girlfriend to fix a scratch a dad put into the rear passenger side of her civic. I did bring my stuff over to her place (which im staying at for a while) a rotary polisher,3M eggshell white pads and a couple meguiars polishes. I washed the car at night didnt really see the scratch that well. next morning i nearly had an heart attack seeing the scratch, couldnt do much to it but tryed my best. the result were not bad and i decided to go around the whole car to fix some random " girlfriend induced scratches" . the car was never waxed before so the color differences between the spots was really anoying, so i borrowed a friend PC 7424 and went to town on the car. never used one before, that thing is magic even with a crappy pad.

so well now i may not have removed all the little spiderwebs due to improper pad and product mainly but the car is 300% better

forgot something, I even remover the muffler to polish it.

    here are the pictures:

    and the dad induced scratch

the bumper needs a repaint on that part, the fender i may do it also but still unsure.

gimme your opinion (btw i did my best on the pictures with the mucky day weve been having!

process was, washed with turtle wax soap (all i had on hands)
cleaned the wheels with a general purpose APC
clayed the whole car twice with the white meguiar's claybar
rotary with a sample of meg 85
pc with a white no name buffing pad and meguiars #2
went again with the same pad (washed) and scratch-X
green lake county polishing pad and swirl-X
black lake county pad and #7 meguiars show car glaze
        hand applied meguiar's NXT (original)

treated the plastics with autoglym vinyl & rubber care
washed the window with microfiber and a water/isopropyl alcool mix
treated the tires with meguiars tire gel
armorall in the fenderwells to darken them

washed the seats with autochem (quebec brand) fabric and vinyl cleaner
a lil can of california scent in the trunk (melon smell)

not the best but it's what i had on hands

BTW. no crow feet, im garaging the car now lol
