Alright, college work and working at my local ShopRite is really chewing into my detail time. So, I had a few hours the other day and decided to wash my dad's Honda Pilot that hadn't been touched since a Father's Day detail in June.
Anyway, I'll make it simple.
Before:

That is a Carrand wand I picked up at Wal-mart for $15. It has a "Soap" and "Rinse" setting, holds 6 ounces of soap and does a pretty good job at foaming the car. Admitted, not Gilour quality but quite good for $15. Another plus is that I can go from Soap to Rinse by merely turning a knob. No disconnecting. It also gives a nice powerful fan spray.

From left to right......Tire brush, Wheel face brush, Inner-Wheel brush, Wheel-well brush (yeah, I need a new one)

Rinse bucket, Wash bucket with natural lambswool wasmitt and 3 oz. of NXT Car Wash, Wheel Bucket with 3 oz. of Dawn

Maybe closer to 4 oz of NXT........It was my first time using this wash and I found it locally. Problem is that it was $12!

Soap goes in here:

Filled with about 4 oz. of Dawn:

During:
SD at 4:1 soaking on the tire. You can see the dirt best near the bottom of the tire.

Scrubbed the wheels, tires and wheel wells with Dawn. I really like how such a thick slurry can be created with Dawn. I can never achieve the same results with regular car wash soap. This is the Dawn about 30 seconds after scrubbing.

Foamed it up a little with the Carrand wand and Dawn. Not terrible.

Wheel well after foamed with Carrand and Dawn:

The next few photos show the car being foamed with Dawn and the Carrand wand. The photos were taken about 1 minute after the foam sitting on the car.

I really liked the cleaning ability of NXT. It leaves a really slick finish and glides smoothly across the paint similar to Gold Class. GC may be a little slicker but not by much. If it was affordable, I would use NXT all the time but $12 for 64 oz. versus $4 for 48 oz. I plan on picking up some Shampoo Plus from ADS for the spring.
After:
Dried with 2 WM and applied some UQW to the truck as I didn't have time to clay and use NXT as I had planned.

Tires were dressed with an Eagle One Tire Swipe and Hot Shine Trigger Spray.

I hit up the wells with some Armor All just to see how it holds up. I also tried Armor All cut at 1:1 on my Civic wheel wells and it seems to work much better.

I dressed all of the trim with Natural Shine:

Do you think the trim was in need of a little cleaning?

I also applied some Rain-x to all windows. It is my first time using Rain-x and the directions made it sound like a wax so I applied it in similar fashion.
Remember, this truck has not even seen a wash since June. The Gold Class Carnauba Plus I applied in June was just about dead. It lasted a good 3 1/2 months. In June, I gave it one round of UC with a few W8207 polishing pads which left the paint about 80% swirl free.
Anyway, thanks for looking!
