  • 2008 BMW 335i-Using Auto Glym HD

So I have been going back and forth on trying Auto Glym HD Wax for a few months. I keep hearing good things and really wanted to see how well it worked. So I pulled the trigger yesterday and bought some.

I sealed the Bimmer prior to going to California a few months back and even though there was still protection present I figured it would be a good canidate. Here we go.

    Process:

Rinse/Dwell with Shampoo Plus and Gilmour Foam Gun
Wash with Shampoo Plus and Megs microfiber mitt w/grit gaurd
    Tires got Super Degreaser 4:1
    Wheels got Wheel Brightener 4:1
Bugs were hit with Body Solvent
Paintwork got Auto Glym HD by hand
Glass cleaned with NXT Glass cleaner
Wheels sealed with Armorall Wheel Protectant
    Tires got Insane Shine Aerosol

    Interior:
    Dry brush and Vacuum
    Leather got Lexol Conditioner
Dash and door panels were cleaned with Cockpit Premium then treated with M40. (Great Combo!!)
Interior glass got NXT as well
All door seals got Gummi Pfledge treatment

I didnt take any before pics because it really was not very dirty. Here are some afters though.

Interior pics were boring so I didnt post any.

I am very happy with the Auto Glym so we will see how it holds up.

    Thanks for looking.

AG HD raawwwwwwwks but as I found out yesterday if you attempt to apply it when its 90 degree or more even in the shade it will not haze up for a LOOOONG time! it literally stayed "smeary" for more than an hour. But yes AG HD is definitely a show stopper on black

Yes, it was about 102 yesterday and the AG did stay smeary the whole time. It never really did haze.

Thanks for the review Rthario. I have been thinking about trying this wax for the past two weeks.

How would you describe the surface in terms of slickness after applying? Is it comparable to NXT2.0?

Where did you purchase it from? And what was the price?

I would say that the NXT would be a little bit "slicker". But the Auto Glym is still very slick feeling. I got it from Pep Boys, the cost was $50. I have heard it is also at Wal-Mart cheaper but honestly I dislike that store so I dont shop there.
Good luck. You will be pleased.

Thank you. I was honestly surprised with the reflections. Silver really isn't usually reflection friendly.

I know silver tends to be kind of boring but for some reason I love it on the Bimmer. Thanks for the compliment.

How much wax did you use for that one application? I was planning to buy this, but realized I have too many waxes sitting at home.
