Great job!!!! Just curious what light do you use to check the level of swirls etc..... I have been considering buying one on a tripod also one hand held. Which type do you use?.

              Many Thanks Rappy

Awsome job turning that swirled out mess into a black mirror!! I would've been doing back flips after seeing what you did to my truck!!

Rappy, look online or at a hardwear/auto store for the Brinkmans Dual Xenon light, it's famously known in the detailing world as the "Swirlfinder"!

I've seen it at Pep Boys here in the states but I never bought it and now can't find it locally so online may be your best bet.

I think the geeks ship internationally if you can't find it in the UK. I'm not sold on the new LED models yet. I'd definitely get the xenon model until the LED models have proven themselves (I'm skeptical that they will).

Thanks for the comment Underdawg and the rest of you guys.

Yes the owner was quite excited, but he intends to sell the truck. I think he was more excited about the extra money he could make. That's okay, I knew prior to starting the detail that his intention was to sell it. I actually didn't even bother to send him the "before" photos of his truck, just some nice "after" photos that he could use to advertise it.

Yes I know what you mean. I have just detailed my friends black ford ka prior to him selling it. it was swirl city. Hence Im looking at buying a g220 machine polisher. My arms are still aching from the w end. I spent the best part of 15hrs detailing it. And using a torch light to check for the swirls. Time to invest in a machine polisher and swirl test light.

I could of detailed this little Ford in around half the time .

                    Thanks for the link,

                    Rappy.

wow that looks great Bill. I should be putting in an order for some more supplies soon, last touch, APC, spray bottles etc etc. Then after detailing some of the neighbors cars i should be ready to get the mighty DA!
