  • Accord detail

    hi. newbie here...

after using different products and experimenting with different combinations, i just have to say that Meguiar's gives awesome results.

just detailed my accord here. used NXT wash then clayed it for a nice smooth surface. then applied speed glaze and topped it off with NXT tech.

what can i say? i'm a pretty satisfied customer.

still trying to get the hang of putting in pics.

i have to get a better camera. lol

thanks for the comments... took me around 2 hours to do the whole car. used my makita rotary with a megs finishing pad for the finish. BTW, i dressed up the tires with High-Endurance gloss too..

had to settle for a low resolution camera for the pix though... my Canon wasn't available during that time...

        here's another pic...

The depth in the paint is great! Nice work with the makita.

              haha...lol... no filters or whatsoever.

took the pictures around 12 noon. the sun was pretty much beating down on me. it was just a low-res camera though. wish i had a good one nearby after the detail.

hey guys. its been a round a month since my last detail with this Accord.

anyway, here's some updated pics. used Nxt Wash, glaze then just one layer of NXT. i'm applying the second coating the next day.

                    black's still awesome!

                    some reflections...

last shot shows what product I always use!

                      Fidel:

                      Nice work Pare!

As we know, the Makita, is one "hot" rotary that speaks for itself. Many of us were hesitant to use the rotary, but with the Makita, you can't go wrong.

It pushes #80 Speed Glaze to its fullest! Though some might say that it is not completely eliminating swirls, but was rather filling them, IMHO, this is not true if used with the "ROTARY."

Good luck with your black Accord! The joy of black!

I wash and wash my car until the whole thing disappeared!

Great Job!!! What speed setting where you using with the Rotary Buffer and Speed Glaze? Which pad W-9006 or W-8006? You made that black wet....Good job and keep up the work...

George Wax: thanks for the comments! with regards to the pads, I used the yellow polishing one (W-8000) with #80. But, I spread #80 first with a applicator pad by hand.

I start slow, usually around 2-3. When the product flashes, that's when I turn up the Makita Rotary a bit.

I usually reserve the finishing pad (w-9000) for sealants like #20...

                              hope this helps!
