My first attempt to post this detailing project a few days ago experienced was fraught with technical difficulties on my part (this is likely my first and last detail for any vehicle but my own). At any rate, here is what I worked on for my brother-in-law. It's a 2006 Acura, daily driver, 112,000 miles; never been waxed or anything else except a run through the car wash from time to time. He just wanted me to wax it while he's on vacation but I decided to try to improve the finish a little. As a rank novice I wasn't able to get all of the defects out, but I thought it turned out pretty well, especially given what I will charge him for doing the job: $0.00.
Total time: about 8 or 9 hours.
The process:
Two washes, the second with ONR.
Clay (I didn't get too much residue actually)
Ultimate Compound, 105, and 205, depending on the area I was working on (sometimes one, sometimes three applications).
DA with LC orange, white, and green pads.
Washed again with ONR.
Two coats of NXT Tech Wax 2.0 (the second coat was applied and removed with a DA using LC blue and red pads--I'd never done this before and I loved how it went on, came off, and left a great shine).
I also cleaned the interior and the tires.
There aren't too many pictures, but I think they are representative of the project.
The befores:

And, for the afters (not perfect, but better):

After this project, my hat is off to all those who detail often and who do it so well.
