  • 2005 Grand Prix

Here is an 05 Grand Prix I just finished up. I met the owner at my buddies dent shop to take a look at it. The owner told me he bought the car new and has never done anything to it other than run it through our local scuff-n-buff car wash and it showed. The paint was dull with swirls and covered with little asphalt spots and fallout. The car had been hit by a piece of rubber thrown from a mower while the owner was driving it down the road ( the reason it was in the dent shop).

    Before:

    Process:

    Wash at local coin op.
Engine was cleaned with Super Degreaser and topped with HD 2:1.
Clayed with MEG's mild caly with Final Inspect 1:1 as lube.
Wet sanded scuffs from rubber with 2500 and 3000 and polished out with 105 on LC purple foamed wool pad via rotary.
Entire car was hit with 151 on a green LC pad via rotary than topped with M21.
    Tires were dressed with ASD.

    After:

    Thanks for viewing.

The white paint really pops. Great work. The engine bay looks new. I bet the owner was amazed at how good his car looks. Way to go.

Whoa! Very nice! What is the Meg's pad equivalent to a Green LC pad that you used with 151? What speed on the rotary?

Wow a chunk of rubber hit it.
I was puzzled because I initially looked at the pics prior to reading the description.

Nice fix. Glad you were able to get the rubber marks off.

                      Nice work! Looks great now!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                      Remove swirls my friends.

Thanks for all the nice comments. The client went and picked up the car from the dent shop and said the work was acceptable. I guess that means he was happy with it. lol
