  • Black Silverado

This truck belongs to my Dad, and I decided to give it some MUCH needed attention as a Father's Day gift. As you will see from the before pictures, it had some swirls, marring, and nasty water spots. There were also random scratches, mostly from helping out around a friend of the family's farm.

    Process:
Washed with NXT Car wash shampoo through a gun.
Dried with Meg's Water Magnet WW drying towel.
Clayed using Smooth Surface Clay Kit.
Meg's Ultimate Compound on yellow polishing pad via G110V2.
Meg's M26 Hi Tech Yellow Carnauba on black finishing pad via G110V2.
Meg's Ultimate Protectant on mirrors and bumper plastic.
Black Magic tire shine on wheel wells and tires.
    Final wash: ONR.

As you can see, the paint looked dull...

    And swirly!

After I washed it and dried it...you can see the water spots.

    After UC, before wax:

    All Finished:

My Dad keeps walking around the truck looking at it. So needless to say, he's thrilled with the results.

Thanks! I think within the next year he is going to ditch the Escalade 18s and go for something more off road...I think it's a good choice.

By the way, this was my first black vehicle detail. I was nervous.

I'm sure you're no longer nervous and actually very proud of your work. Now you have confidence to do it and many others again!

I'll get some pics of the HD up as soon as I detail it again. Didn't take them last weekend and dad's driven it since

Some spots only 1 pass. There were a couple stubborn areas that required for 2 passes, but I was VERY happy with the results. I was striving for 85-90% correction, and I think I achieved that. My Dad swears it looks better than the day be bought it new.
