  • G6 GT Daily driver

    Hi,

I'm nowhere near the level of any of you here, to the point I hesitated to post this. But since you can't see me embarrassed behind the monitor
Here is my daily driver: a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT coupe. It has 50K miles on it, and 4 1/2 years. Up close you can see dozens of little stone chips, some swirls and scratches. But I like to keep it the best I can with the limited time and conditions.
Now I think I'm ready for the next step, and I'm learning a lot here. I plan on getting a DA soon. So I consider myself a newbie or one step before newbie...

After a good wash I used the Meguiar's clay kit, followed by the DC paint cleaner #1, DC Polish #2 and finished with Gold Class liquid wax.
    All work done by hand.
ScratchX was used on a few scratches after the clay.

I'm into photography as well as you can see.....

    Thanks,
    Ismael

Your G6 looks very good. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Great work, looks sharp.

Don't be too hard on yourself; the car looks great! Nice and crisp.

The mirror arms are thirsty for some Ultimate Protectant, though !

Looks great man! I'm glad that you want to take your detailing adventure a step further by getting a DA.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

          I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
          Remove swirls my friends.

Chips, and hits to the paint is not your concern. Getting it to look right with all things considered is, and you did a fine job.

I'm loving the color man! That G6 looks very nice indeed! DualActionDetail is right though, Ultimate Protectant would be very nice on those mirror arms, and in some other places like the dash, console, and maybe the scuttle where you wiper arms are attached.
