  • Silver 350z detailed

I had the pleasure of detailing this beautiful Z a couple weekends ago. We spoke at a car meet a few weeks ago and he didn't think the original owner ever waxed the car and after feeling it, I think he was right. I don't think I have felt a car in such a bad need of a clay job as I have this one. The paint had normal swirling on it but nothing crazy. The goal was to get his car feeling like glass and to correct all the swirls. Obviously silver doesn't reflect the way black or red does so it was really hard to get any quality pictures of the swirls so I didn't include any. Silver is definitely a little harder to make "pop" but I was looking forward to the challenge.

    The products used were:

wash with dawn to get any wax he might have had on the paint off.
    Meguiars Clay Bar
    Eagle One tire cleaner
    Wolfgang Swirl Remover 2.0
    Menzerna 106ff
    Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant
    P21s wax
    Zaino z-16 on tires
Ultima Interior Guard Plus on dash
    Greased Lightening on engine
    Mothers Metal Polish on exhaust
Meguiars Ultimate Protectant on the interior

Here's a few pics from he dropped the car off with me. You can tell from the pics that the paint was VERY tired....

    Going to work....

I couldn't get any pics of the swirls that were on the car unfortunately because they are really hard to pick up with a silver car and a crappy camera. Taking pics of the swirls is my favorite part because see the after is so dramatic, that's what makes it worth it and the pics I tried taking looked like ****. However, you can tell from these after shop how much more crisp and wet the car looks. Couple things, the sun was going down so the lighting was a little hard to work with. Also, believe it or not I hadn't even waxed the car yet. These pics are just after the car was sealed and again, no wax yet!

    door jam

You can tell just how crisp and focused the paint is now. Like I mentioned, the sun was going down but here a couple tries at a sun shot.

Over all I am very happy with how the car turned out. The owner was VERY thrilled with how the car looked and emailed me a week later thanking me again which I though was really nice. Thanks for looking.

Sounded like you exceeded the owners expectations...which should always be the goal when you are working on someone elses car

Haha this is true, I'm doing yet another Z this weekend! I belong to a car club that's almost all G35's and 350z's so I naturally get a lot of business from them. I'll have to find the name of the brush for the wheels because I don't remember. It's nothing special, just a microfiber wheel brush from target or pep boys.
