  • Another jacked up black 350z #2

So I have always loved this Z and how aggressive it is, especially after the new wheels and for how SLAMMED it is. The one thing always hurting it was how incredibly swirled the paint was. That much swirling really took away from the look of a car. Total job took about 14 hours and was well worth it.

    Here's the basic process....

Washed her up with Megs Gold class
Wheels were cleaned with Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner Plus
Clayed the car with Meguiars clay
polished car with Menzerna SIP, 106FF, and Meguiars M105
1 Layer of Danase Wet Glaze
Sealed the car with Ultima Paint Guard Plus
    Waxed car with P21S
Wiped car down with Zaino Z-8

Engine was cleaned with Megs All Purpose Cleaner and CD2 Engine Detailer

Tires were finished off with Zaino Z-16
Spokes on wheels were done with Wheel Wax and wheels were polished with Meguiar’s NXT All Metal Polish.

    So here's the pics!

Here's a pic of the carbon fiber hood. Notice how the sun reflecting is more of a blob than a crisp reflection?

Polishing the hood wasn't easy because you couldn't use a lot of pressure or you'd crack it. Here it is after polishing, you can see how the suns reflection is much more crisp and pin pointed.

Here's a half & half shot. Top half not polished, bottom polished

    Here's the hatch before...ouch!

    and after

Here's some half and half shots

Here's the passenger side hatch before...more ouch

    the after is BUTTER!!

    Front fender before

    Front fender after

    Rear bumper before

    Rear bumper after!!!

    Exhaust before

    Exhaust after

Here's a pic of part of the carbon fiber front lip. Notice again how the reflection is more of a blob again opposed to a crisp reflection?

Here it is after. We couldn't believe how all the carbon fiber totally came back to life after being polished.

    another carbon part before

    and after

Here is the engine before. It wasn't really bad. I just gave everything a good scrubbing, polished the carbon fiber pieces, waxed the intake and polished the strut bar with mothers metal polish.

    Engine after

    Front Wheels before

    Wheel after

    Rear wheel before

    After

Ok, here are the final car shots.

    Thanks for looking.

You should teach the z-club to wash their cars
But then again, that would mean less work for you and less good reading for us.

            Great job, sir.

Amazing Job. You are one of the best I've seen on the before/after swirl pictures.
I love the Z's. That owner needs to put a Brembo Brake Kit on that though.

That's an incredible piece of work, one you should be very proud of. NICE car too; the 08 Roadster was on my shopping list a couple of years ago. I took one out for a few spins = great fun.

Is the same detail/pics that you posted last year?

Hello. I was wondering about how autobody shops repair very small paint problems within large body panels. For example, if you have a paint problem where the paint has been damaged right down to the metal, say the size of a quarter, within a fender does the entire panel have to be repainted and...
