  • I Detailed my Zildjian!!

Hi guys and gals from MOL,

i know its been a while and some are missing my posts, well winter hit us here in Santiago Chile, temperatures have droped, and so did detailing, but no problem, i get to spend time with the family, fix things around the house, update my web page and email clients to keep in touch, well the buffer started calling me and i didnt have a car so i looked around and saw my drum kit, and the cymbals were in need of a shine, so with my rotary and wool pad mixed with some NXT metal polish and then folowed with foam and 205, i was able to get a nice shine out of it and get all that yellow "rust" that forms in this crashes.

they look really nice now and sound awesome, y also aplied some ultimate spray wax just to help protect a bit, as you can see in the first pic, i removed the paint from the "zidjian" before polishing.

now the weather is a bit warmer and the sun is coming put after the rain... its still cold but now the phone is slowly ringing and emails are coming in, i have some cars y wanna share with you guys.. as soon as i have some time i will be uploading more.

      Hey CC,

things are going back to normal here in the capitol, in the South there is still mayor damage, the thing is that the earthquake destroyed alot of homes before winter, so there was alot of people with no shelter from the rain, goverment sended out tents (normal camping tents) for people, and they also made shelters but its not enough, things are hard in the South, there are alot of complaints to the goverment, some people are even burning the houses they were given in protest, (the "houses" are badly built, roof leaks, no insulation, and are not sealed) but were iam located there wasnt much damage, people are "forgeting" a bit and going back to their daily lifes in Santiago, you can still see some structural damage on buldings but nothing mayor, some structures are being demolished because the are not complient with some earthquake codes, and departaments sales are realy lowwwww, no one wants to live 20 floors off the ground now! the jobs were really afected, besides the quake, winter started and buisness went down to a 4 cars for march, things are picking up now, i did 3 cars this week with a 4th tomorrow. normaly i was doing 1 a day before the quake.

i contacted all my clients a couple of days after que quake and they are all fine, including cars hehe, only some dusting

now remembering back it was quite scary when it happened.... i remember after it stoped, that the moon was bright, and you could see the dust lifting from the ground, and darkening everything, then it was dark, it was even hard to breathe, and there was no electricity or water, and you could hear people screaming and running in the street.... i dont recomend it to anyone.... quite an experience..

Awesome work! I read your title and thought, Zildjan... a symbol? Nah, but I was wrong haha

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

Good to see you posting again. Sorry to hear it is slow going for the recovery from the quake.

          The cymbals look great.
